I can skate! No, we’ll leave the thread here to show the world you need more practice sharing videos… You know, I don’t think they’re uploadable, movies might not be allowed. I’ll have to check that out

I took my first ‘steps’ on ice when I was about 1.5 years old. Spent most of my winters on skates for about 15 years.

Been skating on ice skates a couple of times, I wasn’t too bad in a straight line but had a bad habit of low siding on the corners.

Spent some time on the skids, is that the same?

Ice skating always struck me as pointless, all that pain and you go around in circles… LOL why why oh why God?

Skating is great fun,
But got caught out once at Guildford ice rink a few years back.Had not been on the ice for quite a few years
but was keen to give it a go again. It was a Saturday night and they were not going to let us in as it was so
busy.I showed them my old skates and they took pity, laughed and let us in.Eager to get on the ice,i quickly put
the skates on and headed for the slippery stuff but now it was mens speed skating.Should i risk it?I couldnt resist so i went out and kept up with them all for several laps. Then i left the ice feeling quite pleased with myself, thinking id done well.My friends were laughing at me.They were pleased to point out that the speed skating was for
the under 16 year olds.I was so busy concentrating on where i was going i`d not noticed i was in the kids session, doh!

“Go round in circles?” Not where I come from! You pad yourself up (even more than on the bike), put a helmet (with a grill) on your head, grab a stick and a puck, and then it’s a free-for-all! You only get the pain if you get tackled badly, so best get your own tackles in first… :whistling

I skate a bit … on roller blades … usually down around the Barbican. The idea is that once I’m good enough, I’ll use the blades to skate to work!

I live in Old St & work in Camden, so it’s hardly worth putting on my leathers, let alone going down to the garage, unlocking it, unlocking the bike, starting the bike … & locking the garage up again, only to spend my entire journey filtering … before having to lock it up again, and get my leathers off ready for work. The tube is quicker for fox sake!!

Anyhow, blades are cool! … & these are mine …

I can not skate and should any one go skating with me they can expect to go to A&E with me, last time went, fell on back so hard that I concussed myself. Won’t go any more

yes I can skate… last summer the Mrs. bullied me into buying a pair of inlines from Decathlon… So far haven’t bitten the dust…

But if you want to talk about skating then the Mrs. is your girl, 26 and still jumping off of things…

me however after a short skate I like to spend my time like this :

Love inline skating Brilliant way of keeping fit, i always take them on holiday with me as well, you can’t beat the long promenades abroad, sea on one side, semi naked women, resturants What a way to keep fit Ooooo la laaaa
