I changed my plugs and air filter and now I am getting 170 miles per tank instead of 120-140 miles…i think I lost about 3 to 5 hundred in extra fuel charge because of this…only if there was a list showing how much miles a bike should give…then it will be useful
Went to Norway and increased my tank range from 150 miles to 220 miles. Must be something to do with the speed limit (which of course we stuck to rigidly, even in the wildest countryside, officer).
PS Good job it did increase as petrol ranged from £1.35 to £1.49 per litre.
I guess this shows why such a list doesn’t exist. I have exactly the same bike and my commute is a lot of motorway and then the rest is town. I get 140-150 before the reserve comes on. I can therefore get 185+ to the tank.
Seeing as bikes do perform differently in different hands… with differing upgrades etc…
Sprint 955i RS with a 22l tank, gives me 38-40mpg in town, so 145 when reserve light comes on - open road means 180 before reserve light comes on at 54mpg consumption. Only option is the Scorpion end can with baffle out. Works for me.
obviously varies depending on how/where i’m riding but on average i get 75 miles until the fuel light comes on and then maybe another 15 miles on reserve.
I really have to wring the tank like a wet towel and ride like a wet blanket to get anywhere over 100 miles from a full tank.
I get about 145 miles out of my Sv before the fuel light comes on…and I’ve managed to get to 170 miles before filling up (although it did take over 16 litres, and I think it’s a 17 litre tank…)
blimey thats not too clever chen !! lose a couple of stone mate ya get 80 outta a tank then :DI get around 160 to a tank on the 'bird riding like a plank tried the self restrain bit but its too fuggin boring so goes righ out the window after a few miles
zzr1200 47 to a gallon 180+ before reserve or 10+ miles to a litre, 21 litre tank
SL1000 Falco 150 - 160 before the little light comes on and again 10 miles to the litre and 18 litre tank
Thats riding at a steady 80 - 85mph on dual carriageway. Take them over 90 and they drink it, keep them at 60 and below and it’s a lot more. In town it’s obviously a lot less.
I found the Sprint 955i ST and RF900 the same
Daytona 1200 was 40 to a gallon if kept below 80, anymore and you could watch the tank empty and same with the Trophy 1200
VFR800, well I couldnt get any more than 35 to a gallon out of it
I’m not saying that these figures are acurate or reflect what the manufactures state, just what I found with the bikes I had.
With the VFR I can get anything from 150 - 200 miles to reserve/ fuel guage flashing (4.5 litres). 22 litre tank. Makes such a difference on how and where I’m riding it though.
And I agree, in Norway my fuel consumption rate seemed to be at a standstill thanks to the low speed limits, which was fine around the mountains and fjords but a pain on long straight roads.
