Can anyone recommend a new exhaust for a 2003 R6

I guess it’s mainly asthetics but a performance improvement would (a sound improvement is a must :D).

The only thing is I want one that is road legal. I know that you can get them now with removable baffles, and Grim let me know that you still get the improvements with the baffle in (just more so when they’re out).

So can anyone recommend good makes? Oh I’m looking for stainless or titanium.

Cheers

Hiya roadkill,

Sounds awesome, comes with removable baffle if required. can have them them custom made to order, any size, colour/finish. the one in picture above is 225mm long oval carbon finish without a baffle.

They dont have any NOT FOR ROAD USE stamps on them either

Sounds really nice and a absolute head turner :w00t:

I have an Arrow can on my bike and had it cut down a bit. It sounds great and here’s a pic so you can see how it looks.

Erm, I would post a picture but can’t see how to do it

There is an image button next to the “right Justify” button

I have blue flame on my SV with dual port.

Removed the bottom plug and it’s loud enough and sounds (IMO) lovely.

Looks good too.

well i like either scorpions which i had on the fazer they are very strong too, or carbon can company, british made hand built, ive just fitted one to the tiger!

Hello mate  Good idea also to look at what makes people use in racing etc for your specific bike. They’ve usually done the home work for you on power gains from different companies ;)I’m biased but Akrapovic Titanium all the way

Got a titanium Akrapovic on my gsxr - sound really good when the bikes been on a run and it pops/bangs on over run

Listen to these…

Sports Bike Rider ‘Pile O Pipes’ Test

You’ll find the Micron and the Devil sound the best…Had a Micron on my R6 and loved it…Especially poppin in the kill switch in tunnels :Whistling:

All the links are broken :frowning: I guess they’ve taken the files off.

So does mine

Tell me about it, it kept making me jump when I was following you!

Grim you are a star. You reminded me of an article I had been saving from MCN from about 4 years ago about the best mods for the 600’s of the time (mine being one of them). Funnily enough, it too recommended an Akrapovic exhaust. Only I will probably get an end can rather than the full system as it’s far cheaper. One question though, if I wanted to get a full system later on, would the whole thing have to be replaced or just the tubes from the engine to the silencer?

Would you mind telling me who cut your one down as I would like mine done! Don’t trust myself to do it:w00t:

basejumper/biker (a member on here) did mine for me for £45  Send him a pm.

If it would mainly be for cosmetic reasons I wouldn’t go for an ordinary oval anymore these days.

Think a Double Port Tri Oval Blue Flame.

I don’t know how much for a full system, but a BNIB end can is £240.

we sell most of the brands of pipes but i would say an akraprovic is about the best pipe as get spares is very easy if you need too.

as a second option i would say arrow or even remus,

dont forget you get a 10% discount on exhausts at rex judd clothing in west hampstead,

Yes there are quite a few things I’m interested in from Rex’s. Unfortunately when I think about it my credit card starts to weep

Do you deliver by post? I live in North Herts and it’s not always easy to get there!

I’m interested in the Akroprovic can (as above) braided hoses and pazzo levers.

we do post stuff out mate but that will make you credit card tweek even more.

it would be cheaper for you to drive down by car.

im in enfield,is there anyone you could put some gas in the tank to get you here to pick them up.

we will have to order the stuff you want in so it would be best to order it and pay for it.

then we will ring you when it is all in as the pazzo levers can take upto 2 weeks sometimes mate.

that way you will only have to make 1 run here, where about in hertford are you ?
