Can anybody recommend Almax chains?

Hi,

I been searching the net for a good bike chain, and I’ve come across this web site_

They seem to have a fantastic write up, and look like they’re the one to buy!

Has anyone else heard of these or has one?

The Series IV looks unbreakable!!

They’re generally regarded as the best chain on the market. Very heavy so you probably wont want to carry it around with you. Combine it with a decent ground anchor.

They’re the best chains you can get, we completely recommend them. A number of us use them, and we wish more did so! You get what you pay for. I can’t recommend them highly enough, they’re the only chain that can’t be bolt-cropped by hand (the weapon of choice for thieves).

the series iv is a monster - The links are 19mm think and it’s well made - I think if you mention LB you get a discount…

They are the BEST money can buy.

I carry mine round with me in the Motrax tailpack they chucked in for free . . .1.5M is good for lashing 2 bikes together, the limit for carrying around and slightly too long at times for domestic wheel>groundanchor as a 1.5M too easily lays on teh ground

Thanks guys, think thats what I’l go for, wasn’t sure at first if they were full of bull with their quotes, but now it all sounds good!

i carry the III around in the same motrax bag and mines a 2m

That’s good to know as the IV is much heavier so not so portable.

Same here - use everyday to chain to lamppost in City Make sure you get the Motrax lock bag with it!

its the ONLY chain i feel safe with…

you need power tools to get threw it…

got a nice bike? you need an almax befor a new can or rear sets or anything…

What would be the ideal setup with these? The series IV looks the chain to get but what about ground anchor & lock? I’ll be locking 1 bike up

Someone asked about which lock, think Squire SS65CS is the only real option.

Anyone know if you get the lock bag that some of you spoke about with all purchases?

I have been meaning to get one for some time.
