Cal Crutchlow leaving MotoGP....maybe!!!

Well Cal is talking of going back to WSB http://www.bikesportnews.com/news-detail.cfm?newsid=7776
What do you reckon, right or wrong?

would be a shame to see him go, he’s been doing a great job and fully deserves a ride in moto gp

Bit of running before he can walk. What has Cal done to deserve a factory ride? Frankly after 2011 he’s lucky to still be in the Tech 3 team. Given Dovizioso is able to put the Tech 3 Yamaha on the podium on a regular basis then that’s what Cal should be aiming for - however he hasn’t got one podium this year, or last year for that matter.

Cal has been doing a decent job this year, don’t get me wrong. Yamaha have indicated that had Rossi not signed they were going to keep Ben’s Pies on as Jorge’s number 2 anyway. To be honest that’s probably to do with Spies passport than his talent, as Cal has been quicker than Spies in just about every session and most races this year.

It is also arguable that the Tech 3 Yamaha is a better bet than the factory Ducati for the next two years, and I’m sure Cal is still doing alright moneywise…

well, certainly hope he stays with Tech3, he’s a good rider and I think Tech3 would be better than Ducati for him. He’ll get to the podium eventually…

Bit harsh Stuart, Dovi has been racing in the Moto gp for many more years than Cal and that experience with the machinery and fellow riders is why he is able to maintain a higher level of finishes to Cal.

I want to see Cal back on the Tech 3 next year, it will be his third year on the same bike, same team and that is only going to help with his results. He clearly has the ability and to finish consistently in the top 5 on a satellite team is great going considering who he is raing against.

We need more Brits on the grid.

So it appears we will have an all british Tech3 team next year Cal has been confirmed alongside Bradley Smith next year

Cal has signed a 1 year extension to his contract with Tech3 after Ducati went back on their word of signing him.

I would say he is is better place, ok the Ducati would be a factory ride but that doesn’t mean that he will finish higher than he already is.

Good news I say.
