Dude, I apologise, I was too./… Idiot was a bit harsh… maybe a plum, or a slightly misguided numpty but idiot was too far. My bad… Ouch that feckin hangover never gets any easier!
Believe it or not i know some people who think it is illegal for bikers to filter!
Others just get jealous…simples. If that happens i ride past and hold the clutch and revv the nuts off it next to them! Childish I know but gets on my t@ts!!!
i like the approach of opening the offside passenger doors or boots of the car in retaliation, no damage to the vehicle but they have to get out and close it before driving off, makes them look like twits in front of the other drivers!!
There is also an emergency pull here button which cuts the engine and open the doors on all bus’s for those who prefer and more annoying retaliation!!
Did this to a national express bus driver on finchley road, MAN was he annoyed, the black cab driver who saw him cut me up and give me the finger applauded me out the window!! No damage done just pure annoyance!!
On the national express it was on the left hand side about 6ft back from the driver door about head height, i believe its on the back, if you look for it you will see it.
The cagers who attempt to prevent us filtering are exhibiting ‘crabs in a bucket mentality’:
Crab mentality, sometimes referred to as crabs in the bucket, describes a way of thinking best described by the phrase “if I can’t have it, neither can you.” The metaphor refers to a pot of crabs. Individually, the crabs could easily escape from the pot, but instead, they grab at each other in a useless “king of the hill” competition (or sabotage) which prevents any from escaping and ensures their collective demise.[1][2] The analogy in human behavior is that of a group that will attempt to “pull down” (negate or diminish the importance of) any member who achieves success beyond the others, out of envy,[3]conspiracy or competitive feelings.
In this instance the cager is envious of the bikers ability to negate the effects of a traffic jam by filtering and tries to force the biker to conform to the same level of misery as everyone else by blocking his path.
i both ride and drive in london, and there are nasty cagers and nasty bikers out there…
everyone is selfish, they dont care about anyone else - and this included me filtering with other bikers through traffic.
Car drivers generally are oblivious to whats going on around them.
Bikers tend to filter on both sides of the traffic, criss crossing, and what i found last week by the bikers doing this they were actually putting in danger other bikers (bike goes up left, then cross over to right, car pulls out of his way, and doesnt see other bike in the original line on the left)
Driving the car, i find a group of bikers trying to squeeze in between and revving their engines with impatience is not only distracting, but also intimidating.
Riding the bike - There comes a time when you do need to stop and wait a few secs for a gap to open
I don’t think it’s just drivers/riders. Everyone in London has no regard for other people at all, I think their unability to drive/ride properly stems from the fact that they can’t even walk properly. It’s really sad and really really annoying but you’ll find that in any big city even though British drivers are one of the worst I’ve seen and I’ve travelled (by car) around Europe.
