I’m shattered!! Rain like crazy on the friday… woke up saturday at 6am and headed to Cadwell Park to be greeted with awesome Sunshine!!
Will post more tomorrow… But… it was AMAZING… what a track!!
Heres a pic for now…
Looking good, Floyd! Cadwell is one of my favourite circuits, it’s great fun, and difficult to ride very quickly. I look forward to the rest of the pics!
Nice pic! looking good Floyd
Heres a couple more…
Not bad for a middle of October trackday
Nice pics floyd, including a smoked back tyre. Great circuit that one, has everything a bike track should. Very narrow racing line though!
Did you do the full circuit or National?
Hey Chuffy…
It was the full circuit. First session was a little damp but still good craic. Took a while to get used to the lines… Such a tight track, its almost feels like you dont really have time to think about anything. Took a couple of sessions to get the line right from Park through Chris Curve to the Gooseneck… went out for a lap with the instructor and nailed it though… I just couldn’t get me head into it and then he said… "see that red cone… aim for that then turn into the cone on the right and bam… ya there… made sense after that. Loved Hall bends too…
You have to be careful there when its been wet. Much of the circuit drys quite quickly, you get your confidence up, fly over the mountain, straight into the bends and oh sh*tes, its all wet and slippery. Glad you really enjoyed it mate and good on you for using the instructor provided, thats what they are there for, to help you and improve you. Many people on track days would be well advised to use the instructor, after all, they have paid for his services within their trackday price. There is no shame in using someone elses skill to better yourself, thats how we learn.
Arr yeah sure… whilst most the back section was dry, from Halls, Hairpin and Barn was wet and quite slippery. I started off in the Intermediate group for some reason… the orgainiser made a slight error and asked if I minded being in that group… wasnt a real problem. I was more than keeping up and going past people but after 3 sessions I decided I wasn’t really learning much about the circuit. I was ragged and quick rather than smooth and fast, so I asked to get bumped down a group to Novice and then this really cool instructor on a Duke took me round for 3 laps, then followed me for 3 laps then I followed him again… It felt soooo much faster once I had lines and passign places sorted. Well worth asking the instructors…
Wow!
This sounds like wicked huge fun! You have a great looking bike too…that first picture is wicked killer. The shot of your “completely ran in” rear tire is great too.
Good stuff, man…thanks for posting it. :thumb
Hey Floyd… Great pictures dude… Ooooohhh that burnt rubber… LOVE IT!!! Looks like you were flying round…
