Bye Bye Blade

My scoot died and have been commuting recently on the Blade, and really not enjoying it much, so thought I would go and have a look and see what was in the bike shop down the road. An hour later I am the proud owner of a DRZ 400 SM!

Going to be a bit of a change but I can’t wait until next weekend when I pick it up.:D:D:D:D:D:D

let us know what its like compared to your blade (600?)

nice one mate:) your going to love it for getting about the city + bcr & trackdays:cool::smiley:

Exactly!

I have got itchy feet, I keep looking out of the window and seeing rain and thinking ‘great I can have some fun in this next week’, rather than ‘**** I will have to tiptoe into work today’ on the Blade.

I hope to get a trackday in some time next year as well. Any recommendations for a good track, Rockingham springs to mind as it is quite tight?

yeah got to be said its still fun riding in the rain on a moto…

been on my KTM for the last week too and from work, great fun!

you can still thrash it and pop wheelies… :stuck_out_tongue:

i would never sell my GSXR though… muhhhaaa

i really need a commuter bike as im using my blade also, keep thinking about somthing moto style, but dont know what to get, any ideas??

The DRZ will be okay for commuting but it will never bring you the real motard fun… you need a proper one like a CRF450 or even better a KTM EXCR 525

… in which case you’ll have “proper” fun the couple of days every year the bike isn’t broken down or in bits being “upgraded”

Just gotten past the 20k miles on my bike last week, so it’ll need its 4th service in a couple of thousand. Any of these “proper bikes” got that sort of mileage?

what a couple of thousand… yeah :P:hehe:

Yeak, mine has…although its looking a lil’like triggers broom at the mo…:crying:

my mate has this for sale:) http://londonbikers.com/forums/FindPost638291.aspx

Yeah, but yours is a bit “special”

I sold my blade for a motard (CCM 640 rotax engine) and must admit its a lot of fun but im also saving up for a 916/996 sometimes the motard is a little impractical. I still want something for long cross country blasts but living down here we dont exactly have a lot of choice for decent roads (i know theres a few but its always so bloody busy) im gonna save the ducati for rides around wales and stuff where a sports bike is actually usefull

That all said i love my tard and its a ideal style of bike in london. Lots of fun at low speed and a good giggle.

you need at least two bikes in your life FFS!!

Yeah…Special Needs!

Does that mean you can use disabled parking bays?

I can, bike cant!
