I intend to race as close as possible to cyclists making sure to scare them and where possible kick them… since this is what the cycling lobby expect
This will be good news for motorcyclists. The real test will be when we prove to cyclists that we are not deranged nutters and that sharing the Bus Lanes makes things safer for them as well. As quite a bit of my commute takes bus lane routes, this will be a big change. Kicking cyclists is not nice, not scooterists. Kicking stupid pedestrians however is mandatory.
Is this ALL bus lanes, or just the TFL ones (which I know is most of them but it is important that people understand what this means)?
Hope it’s true - will make a large portion of my commute MUCH easier !

…for all the posts to come about how dangerous it is to ride in bus lanes, once people actually get out there and try it. Just hope not to read any reports of accidents, but I think I’m being very optimistic there.
Taking arguably the most agile, speedy thing on the road (a bike) and putting it in a lane with the slowest, worst-driven things on the road (buses, cycles) is not a recipe for success imho.
it depends BB… you dont always have to use the Bus lane.
eg. i dont always use the Bush lane on Bayswater RD (prior to Marble arch) if it is packed with Buses and Taxis id rather filter on the outside.
but it will be nice to have the option as you cant always filter safely
I use the bus lane up the A41 every day, and as long as you have your wits about you, it is a lot quicker than sitting in the traffic, or trying to filter through it.

No. Fair enough. I see what you mean. I do use them myself, but, as you say, I’m quite selective about where and when.
