Between Morden and South wimbledon tube there are signs that you can use the bus lanes, in the last 500 or so the bus lane signs don’t show the motorcycle icon so I stick to the road like all the cagers but a lot of motorcyclists seem to be carry on down the red strip to the front!!
Am I missing something, or they’re taking the slight risk of getting collared by the fuzz?
The New Kent Road coming to Elephant & Castle is the same - on the last section under the bridge the motorbike has disappeared from the sign. The day I dive up the inside will be the day the camera’s on it.
The bus lanes in Kingston are not TFL ones. Kingston allows bikes in some bus lanes, but not in others so read the signs. As for South Wimbledon, there is a section of road that is run by TFL, but the bus lane is not on their schedule of lanes bikes are allowed in, and the signs have never shown that bikes can use it. Write and ask them to change it. They eventually changed the signs on the bus lane in Balham that was like that.
That’s on my commute.
As you say, preceeding bus lanes have a motorcycle symbol which shows we can use them, but the last bit (the bus lane after the Big Yellow Storage centre IIRC) doesn’t. Better to keep out of it as it doesn’t have a sign, let someone else take the risk and get a penalty.
