Burne House Burns

Major disruption on phones / internet in some parts of Londonhttp://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/03/31/burne_house_burns/

Thanks for that - confirms what London MAN told us about our dead 1Gb Internet link from Holloway Rd. Luckily we have another via another provider.

All I know is that it happened very earlier this morning, as the slip from the Edgware Road onto the Marylebone Road was closed at 05.45, with FB in attendance.

Let’s hope that it doesn’t affect my route riding home tonight

Our link went down just after midnight, don’t know how long before fire was dealt with though.

Christ, I thought PPG was homeless! :w00t:

PMSL  Funny you should say that - I used to live just near there on Penfold Place

There was an electrical fault that caused flooding and a fire.

The area affected includes North and West London, mobile phone services and has impacted Nottingham broadband services!

It’s not just phone/net/fax lines - in the Marylbone area at least, all the cashpoints were affected, as were chip n pin machines so banks & shops were closed.

today was a day of hell for me at work, outsourced IT was not the job to be in today… I had to peel the phone off of my head when I left after my 13hour shift!!!

what a day and dont it **** you off when you have one slacker at work! arse bandit hardly answered the phone and fooked off at home time although I had already done like 2 hours overtime to deal with the back log… ahh rant over feel better now.

I wonder if this is why the heated seats in my car were getting hot then turning off completely rather than regulating my posterior this morning ?

BUMMER - the phone has just come back on again:w00t: Just when I was about to skive off home at 3.30 the phone came back on after 2 days:P
