Anyone here going or interested in attending this event?!
Dates are from the 9th/12th August 2012
I am going
yes been! not interested! it’s on my ‘meet to avoid’ list ;)
Is that bad Mo?!
I think so:) but have heard others rave about it;)
i went in 2006 had to go up onmy own on a friday night when i got there i was going along the country roads pitch black no lighting and came across a dumped tyre in the road lucky i wasnt going to fast and swerved it in time did think that maybe a local who dont like the bash placed it there?
anyway it was a good weekend and we had guest tickets c/o hells angels there will be alot of them up there and other back patch clubs either yr love it or hate but i would def say you wont reget it theres a dance tent a live band tent and strippers tent well i mean marquees etc not tents, a run what ya bring on the drag strip plus pros on the drag strip best bike at the show (choppers etc and the like)
Sounds like u had a good time mate!
If u get free tickets again give me a shout;)
I get half price tickets
Im not going this year though, i’ll be in Germany.
Ive been going to the bash for years as its only up the road from me. Its not what it used to be
Back in the day the Hels Angels would take over the town parking where ever they liked and riding without helmets on, these days they arent even aloud into town which is one of the conditions to keep the show running.
You used to get bikes wheeling all over the shop, doing burnouts and what not and everyone and anyone including kids could rag a bike up the drag strip, didnt even need to be a road legal bike. Nowadays you have to have a fully road legal bike, wont even let a motard on the strip without a proper full length chain guard. You aso have to be fully road legal on the bike yourself. And you’ll get a warning if your doing wheelies/burnouts anywhere with a threat of being booted off or having your bike taken off you till the end of the event.
The live sex show on the main stage has toned down but still entertaining to watch, just one word of warning dont volunteer to get up on stage for it unless you like to be whipped and abused by a woman
Usualy have some realy good bands on and usualy a big named band on the sat night which is when it gets packed out by all those who come just to see the band play. Not sure who is playing this year as ive not looked with the fact im not going.
Good pub just down the road for food and better than eating the crap on sight and paying the ridiculous prices. I usualy take a rideout along some of my favourite roads to a pub for a good, cheap lunch.
The stunt show is the same every year so gets boring to watch. You get some sweet lookng rides in the custom tent but if the weathers realy bad you may find it abit thin on the ground in there.
Security is pretty good, much better than if the police where running it. There are no police on sight, its all done by the Hells Angels, and as far as im aware there has not been any serious incidents on sight. They patrol the campsite but obviously dont leave valuables lying around. They make sure you have the keys in the igniton when you go off site so its not someone who has just hot wired your bike and doing one on it. And well when your bike doesnt use a key like my tard its even harder to convince them the bikes yours.
Dont take pictures of the strippers, if you get caught like my mate did you’ll find yourself lifted up by your throat getting a warning off some huge HA dude whilst he deletes the photos you have took.
The police dont shut off all the roads anymore and they dont have the armed police stopping people and checking them before they go onto the airfield anymore either.
Ride deffensively as there tends to be even more unmarked police about. Some people are stupid enough to get stopped doing 50 past an unmarked car in a 30 :w00t: Got away with a caution though, to be fair think even they thought it shouldnt be a 30 in that area.
Get what alcahol you can into the campsite too, the beers aint cheap.
Thanks for the info mate! Really good;)
