Brush with the law!

Hmm, not such a good morning today. Cut up by a scooter with L plates who had the nerve to wonder why I screamed at him, then after enthusiastically pulling away from the next set of lights, got pulled over by 2 gentlemen from Her Majesty’s finest, one of whom went apoplectic and threatened to have my bike impounded (because he was also an MOT inspector - uh-oh) if I didn’t shut up and listen rather than politely commenting on the points he raised.

I think what upset him most was when, after tugging away at my tail tidy and back light saying, ‘that’s safe is it? That’s not going to fall off?’ I said, ‘well it will if you keep pulling it like that.’

I’m interested - why on the ocassions that I’ve been stopped have I aways been asked what job I do?

To his credit, I have to say this chap was extremely thorough. Don’t think there was one inch of my bike he didn’t look at, so I’m rather pleased I do a weekly maintenance check. He was even about to check my head bearing, but then decided he didn’t want to get his hands dirty - he did warm them up on my tyres though

After expressing interest in his Bikesafe campaign, I offered him one of the Road Rash cards I’ve made up - he wasn’t interested though! Very disappointing.

Got off with a ten minute lecture, and a promise to get my mars bar plate changed pronto - maybe it is my day after all

See you on Wednesday with my new plate

…It will if you pulling at it…PMSL!!!

Where did this happen? Was it a major event or just a quick spot check?

As you say at least you know the bikes okay!

It was on the road between the Albert Hall and Knightsbridge, hiding in the one of the park entrances. Keep your eyes peeled, folks

you’re lucky he didn’t start unpeeling the selo-tape!

Close call mate, let that be a lesson to you. Fair dues to the policeman for just telling you off though, if that had been many other places you would have got done.

Yes, might have had a clown-car type situation on my hands

ROTFL…he may have thought you were giving him some sort of “Happy Road Rash Card”…

I ve been pulled a few times in the last few months by the bike cops and must admit they have been rather civil…to the point where at one instance we ended up talking about bikes and bikers at the The Ace and stuff and ended up rolling about laughing !!!

May be its the Mets New Get Nice Campaign !!!

Have to say I don’t think the government is doing them any favours at the moment - and the only media attention they get seems to be negative.

Maybe it’s time both Blairs moved on.
