Went there this morning and was told by the metal recycling dude next door they have shut down. Shame was a decent local garage/sales. Website has gone.
It’ll only be the big boys left soon?

The best independent mechanic I’ve known in 40+ years of motorcycling shut his doors last year. Just couldn’t get the business due to new/first second hand bike buyers being locked in to the dealer networks and the dealers not giving him any discount on spare parts.
I think that’s a “restrictive trade practice”, but who seems to care?
High rent and rates, spare parts that take ages to arrive and quite often damaged or incorrectly supplied, minimal profits on s/h bikes, virtrually nothing on any major brand of new machine. Investing a fortune to try and earn a smaller one, hearing that I just wanted to try it on for size… it’s five pounds cheaper on ebay etc… etc.I wonder why they closed, the joy of working with motorcycles should be reward enough - one can’t expect to make money as well.
