Brighton today

Fantastic day. Sorry Rottie I know you called me but was ridding at the time so could not answer.

I got to the ace at about 10am couldn’t find any of the LB crew so just set off with my mates. Lots of tooting and waving to the people on the bridges. When we got there we had to park on the road above the seafront. Never seen that many bikes there before. I spotted Andrew’s ZX7 at the end of the front but didn’t see anyone else. Sat on the pier had a beer then rode back to the ace. Top day shame I didn’t see any of you but I am sure you all had a good day too.

Howdy ol’yella!

Pity I missed you. Twas a funny day as arrangments to meet Jay & Foxy @10 @the Ace didn’t happen while Brooke & some others started real early from Boxhill!

So it was a bit scrambled but I saw Vinnie and went down with him, only to have to stop for fuel (doh!) on M25 so we kinda made our own way.

Jay & Foxy couldn’t make it unfortunately and we caught up with Brooke & Matt and AWOL at various times. Had a high speed blast back with the AWOL guys to return home at 9ish.

Pics are in the gallery, although they look a little dark! Damn digital trickery I say.

Andy saw your 7 parked along the front, also spotted Brooke.

Yup I had a great ride out even on the tractor

The amount of bikes leaving the Ace was amazing and it was soo cool riding with that many bikes.

The SMC coped with the run nicely and wasn’t too uncomfortable although the ususal petrol stops prob helped the numb bum factor. I was also worried it might overheat in the traffic jam going into Brighton but it was fine.

Saw Andrews bikes, but couldn’t see anyone else.

Hey, y’all ! I loved bumping into everyone yesterday and couldn’t believe how many familiar faces I saw from the Ace. The bikes were gorgeous, I behaved at the stalls, and ended up feeling exhausted from socialising! Hooray! The Awol boys were out in force, Mark was busy with the 59 club, etc.

Yes, I went to meet some friends at Box Hill early in the morning. I first went on a bike a year ago (on the back, mind you) as they took me to Brighton. I was hooked and wanted to make sure that I could ride out with them this year. Nick, Matt, Timmy and Alex joined on from the Ace and we ended up having a lovely lunch. I am convinced that there were more bikes than last year!

Hi Guys…Fantastic day on the Brighton run yesterday! Dont think I’ve ever met anyone from the LB crowd but I did try looking around the ACE yesterday morning…just too many bikes…anyway, thanks to you all for a great website and its good to know you guys are around…even if we never meet! Its Tim on a black, blackbird just in case our paths ever cross…

It’s a shame Foxy and I couldn’t make it, but take heart from the fact that we saw the WSB racing, so all was not lost! Next time… Nice story Tony

Hope everyone had a good day out, next time for me too. Like Jay i watched WSB but i also watched BSB and a bit of F1.

Bless your heart, Tony! Pleas forgive us. You must give me your number (however, I have vague memories of collecting it at Frith street…Lord knows with my technical skills).

You were missed and I turned told Timmy that it was a shame that you weren’t there for the day as it would have been even more of a laugh. You should be relieved that you weren’t part of my texting cluster…I think the message went out around half seven in the morning!

Fab to see you at the Ace last night, though. Leave it to you to start a great conversation and I promise to have my brain in gear next time. I was exhausted!

Hi Tony…well it could have been me cos I’m generally smiley on my bike and do tend to nod a lot! Was there a girl wearing black/silver leathers on the back?? I had my ex-mrs with me so was generally well behaved on the riding front but great day out… will look out for you in future fella…

Brooke - i take it your rear tyre survived the ride. I bet you were a bit nervous about it.

Hello, Terry! You are a sweetheart to think of it. I was getting more and more anxious about it at the Ace as everyone had an opinion. To be honest, we noticed it during our first stop on a Saturday ride out and it didn’t slow me down on the highway…probably a bit foolish on my part. The worries began once we hit the Ace. Comments ranging from ‘how did you manage that’, or ‘it looks like it is deep and it could have pierced the wall’ (plus tutting) to ‘no problem, just pull it out’. They all have more experience, and I seem to have a tendency to pick up nails (dirty rider!).

Duke was at the Ace on a social outing, but took pity on me and had a look at it. He said to pull it out, check it with soapy water for leaks, and then stop worrying about it as Diablos have deep treads. Alex, Brian and Nick removed the screw, and I followed Duke’s advice by not worrying about it! Nothing like an expert to put your mind at ease. I can’t afford new tyres, so I am being optomistic! Hooray!

Glad to hear you didnt have any problem with the tyre.

How dare you offend me like that!!! Im not Terry - he’s whom im always taking the mickey out off and he does likewise. Im Sam I met you on saturday - was wearing a baseball cap and i came and introduced myself to you.

Eek! I read it quickly and the large ‘description of Terry’ through me off. I shan’t get it wrong again, Sam. Thank you for saying hello on Saturday. It is fun to put faces to all of the comments. How is your bike ordeal coming along? It sounds like Hell!

Was good to meet you on Saturday. I remembered you from when Daz was teaching you how to wheelie thinking i need a few lessons too.

Im having a physio appointment on Thursday and i hope i get the go-ahead to ride but tbh im not that optomistic. I need to sort out my zx as ive got a punture in the rear tyre and need a new front too but cant ride it anywhere to get the tyres fitted.

Ha! That was fantastic fun! I have been afraid to practice on the Blade, but my Bandit will be back soon and I will start again. Best wishes with the doctor, Sam! Also, it might be worth talking to Duke about the tyres as he has a mobile fitting service.

Thanks Brooke. Fingers crossed.

So who took the brilliant pictures that have appeared in the gallery?

Me, you clod.

Check the credits, baby.

Pity we mostly missed each other - perhaps next time we’ll swap numbers as a group before hand? Or arrange to meet at a given time once there.

Sounds like a plan. I had to park on the pier so I knew that no one would spot my bike so I took it that I wasn’t going to see you lot.
