First trackday of the year for @pricetta and I the other week. We’ve been a bit slow organising them as life has taken over for both of us, but we had a really good shakedown at Brands Hatch. Huge smiles throughout the day for both of us!
We both had new Pirelli tyres on, with both of us feeling right at home on them after not having the best of feedback with the Dunlops we had on last time.
Both of our bikes have had attention over the Winter. Claire’s had a full service and race-ignition upgrade (after the Brno fiasco) and my Triumph has recently come back from a winter refresh with Tony Scott Motorsport-, sorting out the suspension (full front and rear service plus installation of a linear swingarm linkage, plus a full geometry setup), getting a full service, retuning of the ECU on the dyno. The bike was like a completely new one! For the first time since getting it, I felt at one with it and beat my PB round Brands!
I was even lucky enough to take Claire’s bike out on track for a session, and my god, it’s so good! Incredible feedback, begging you to get into the corners faster and faster every laptop, knee down everywhere. What a bike. Stonking brakes and really smooth gear shifts.
Cannot wait to get back out there and beat some more PBs!

I got to take Claire’s bike out, and boy, what a bike! It handles so well, even with stock suspension! I was having a whale of a time
Getting back into grips with Druids corner. I think this is the only part of the circuit that hasn’t been resurfaced on the Indy circuit. Photo taken in the first session I think.

My Triumph, mid-mechanical issue correction. Thankfully track fairings are super easy to take off, the whole front comes off in one go after two bolts and two cable ties (couple of DZUS fasteners have expired). Then removed the troublesome steering damper. One session missed, but it was fine after.

Not everyone got to enjoy the full day. Many people had issues with Paddock Hill corner for some reason, and took a trip into the gravel. Target fixation seemed to be a big cause. Thankfully nobody was hurt it seemed
