Brands Hatch GP Trackday - 2004

I have about two years worth of photos from the London bike scene that I want to see posted up into the Galleries, but there’s a few personal galleries that I think might add something to the site, but in the forums. They’re mainly trackday shots.

Here’s one from last July. It was an amazing weekday, and I was running late for work, when a friend, Branco called me and said he was at Brands Hatch, and that I should come down and get on track! I was sold on the idea in about 0.0002 seconds, phoned into work to say I wasn’t coming and burned down the M25 to the track, paid a half-days amount and got three sessions in the baking sun! I love this track so much, it’s much faster than the Indy circuit and is like two tracks in one, with the fast and flowing woodland section, before rejoining the Indy circuit at Clearways (which is much less daunting as you have more moment and are not on the power so hard, risking a high/low-side).

I’d also just learnt to get my knee down a week before at Cadwell Park, so was in my element scratching around all the corners. The bike was about a month old at this point hehehe… Oh I can’t wait to get back out there! There’s one on there tomorrow :expressionless:

Wicked photo’s Jay. Noticed you had the bullet cam fitted - you plan on uploading them.

I’m really keen on doing my first trackday this year - hopefully Silverstone, then I want to try Rockingham and then Brands. - Just need to stop spending my money on other ****e first…

Hey Stan, the video camera failed as I didn’t put the DV cam in place under the seat properly and it managed to turn itself off! I was gutted as I felt very smooth that day and was having lots of fun! I hope to film this coming Monday’s trackday at Silverstone.

Brands Hatch Indy is a great circuit to go to for a first trackday, as it’s not massively spaced out, flowing, and not scary fast, you can learn a lot about track riding at Brands. Cadwell Park is also superb and a must-ride track! Get one booked!
