So, the BBC has decided to suspend Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand. Is this enough?
Should they be given the heave-ho?
I think they should show Fawlty Towers in place of Ross’s Friday-night show, at the very least.

I despise both and think that they are shite entertainers. The problem though, is that if the bbc sack them, they’ll just be picked up by someone else. However, as a TV license payer, I do not want those two turds on the bbc’s bankroll…
I quite like Ross, but Brand is just an idiot.
Clearly, the controller of the BBC should be sacked over this. Then Ross should be promoted to controller of the BBC as he has just proved his credentials for the role, whereas Brand should be sacked and have his nads cut off.
See now, I’m the opposite, seen Brand a few times, a mate used to live with him - he’s sound. Whereas Ross is just a misogynistic Daily Mail reader!
Given the wages they’re both on they should both be sacked, as should the producer who listened to it and subsequently allowed the broadcast.
Why the hell Gordon Brown’s waded in is beyond me - surely there’s more pressing issues in the world?
Brand is an idiot but I listened back to this and I have heard worse on the radio. This was a funny show, and the only cause for offence was the swear word. The producer who edited this and passed it for broadcast should be reprimanded as normal.
Only 2 people complained before the tabloids picked it up and now every uneducated Sun-reading van-driving knuckle dragging moron in the country is crying about something they didn’t even hear, on a station they probably don’t even listen to.
The fact the minister for culture, opposition minister for culture, prime minster and leader of the opposition have stuck their oar in is ridiculous. The grand-daughter is hardly backwards in coming forward and so probably has shagged Brand (I wouldn’t chuck her out of bed for eating biscuits). Sachs himself doesn’t sound that fussed either, all I have heard from him is an acceptance of Ross’s apology.
They are both idiots, but as said, this happened nearly two weeks ago and only became an issue when the tabloids picked it up five days ago and decided to make a fuss about the BBC which they want to see scrapped anyway. We need to stop dancing every time the Daily Mail plays the usual anti-BBC tune.
Stop their pocket-money for a while, like all naughty children.

I don’t like brand but I wouldn’t want to see them sacked over this. It’s over reacting and a dangerous step that would limit future broadcasts.

As usual nothings going on and everyones bored of the credit crunch so lets have an uproar about a show that went out 11 days ago!
The whole thing is just stupid. Just proves what a nanny state we live in when a flippant coment can snow ball so badly. There was only a hand full of people who complained at the time and then everyone else jumped on it when it got publicity!!!
So best if no one has any fun in case you get in trouble. Its absolute b******s!

What a thoroughly disagreeable pair. You can hear them both giggling away like a couple of naughty kids. It’s exactly the sort of laughter that you’d hear from the two at the back - before the teacher is forced to separate them for the rest of the school year.
It’s one thing making a gaffe like that - but it’s quite another to carry on doing it. While breaking out into breathless laughter during the ‘apology’.
They’d be fired in any other job, and rightly so.
That said, the fact that Sachs’s granddaughter has apparently signed up with Max Clifford makes the moral high ground subside a bit… :w00t:
