start at the very begining, it’s a very good place to start
check the bulb, then start at one end and work to the other, so Switchgear then switches to fusebox, fuses, then fuse box to rear light assembly.
do your indicators work ok? numberplate light? no problems with the starter button

Sounds like a dodgy bulb or a bulb on the way out . . . but don’t you have LED brake lights ? In that case unplug and replug all the connectors.
What else does the fuse supply as well as the brake light ? Are those items OK ?
If front and back brakes do the same then unlikely to be the switches.
