I’m going down to near Bournemouth on Boxing Day to stay with some family, and I’m going to avoid motorways and most dual carriageways.
Is anyone else heading down an A road beginning with a 3 at about that time and fancy making it a trip to the seaside for some ice cream? One bit of dual carriageway I’ll almost certainly be doing is the A406 to the A40 or A4, so passing the Ace at, er, some point in the morning.
If you fancy it let me know and I’ll actually bother to plan something I’m not intending on coming back on Boxing Day.
Aha, probably better plan something, then Is anyone else in?
We’ll be doing DRZ400 speeds (whatever those are) and I guess we’ll be passing the ace at about 10; what time/place is good for you? We’re not coming back to London that day so it doesn’t much matter to us what time we leave, but you might want to be able to get home?
Have a good ride folks, offer is still open for LBers passing by Cumbria over the weekend (it has been known to happen over Christmas) text us though as we have no Internet there
Just checked the weather forecast - it’s a bit wet, and especially for your return trip. I’ll be meeting Roni (who has to come) at the Ace but I’m not really expecting you guys to still fancy it
Wasn’t bothered by the rain but just found out I won’t be able to make the Ace at the time. Might try a Finchingfield run a bit later. As it’ll be good to get out on the bike
Ah, We’re going to aim to leave the Ace at 9 now, to see if we can arrive as the rain’s beginning, rather than an hour into it I’ve PMed TimmyFox but anyone else quietly pondering it ought to get there for 9 now
And, just to make sure it’s really clear and nobody’s surprised by it, neither Boris/Roni nor I are riding back, and we can’t offer lodgings either
Good to get out of the house for a bit, and on the bike. Picked the wrong route home in terms of traffic and roadworks however made it home in good time all the same.
Hope the heating was on for you boys when you got to Bournemouth!
