I’m looking to buy some new boots and gloves as my current ones are knackered
Basically i’m looking at spending about £120-£150 on waterproof boots, and up to £50 on waterproof gloves.
Does anyone have any reccomendations? Or know if there are any special deals that i should have a look at? I would like to go with a well known make for both of them and would rather go for something a bit sporty rather than tourey.
Size is either 45 or 46 (can’t remember without looking) which is abut a UK 10.5 or 11, only worn them once and they were too small. Gore-tex liner and look good. £75 plus a fiver for postage. Can send you a picture later if you like.
I had a pair of Alpinestars Web Gore Tex which came highly recommended, but started looking worn out a lot quicker than I’d expected. They were also only mostly waterproof, with both boots allowing water to seep through the stitching round the toe.
I’ve since got a pair of TCX SS Sport waterproofs. They’re not Gore Tex, but are more waterproof than the Alpinestars were, and the breathability hasn’t felt limited yet, though I’ve only had them for a couple of thousand miles, and most of that’s been cold and/or wet. Rained on all the way to Newquay, and through mist and rain halfway back, my feet stayed perfectly dry, which was quite astounding.
Hi mate, sorry but they’re a bit small for me aswell! Thats a brilliant deal but i need a 48 probabaly. I tried on a 46 in Hein Gericke and they were way too small.
spada gloves are great, I bought a £30 pair last year in southend when mine got flooded in a downpour. The spadas were brilliant kept my hands warm and dry. used em all through winter with a silk inner and no problems.
Boots, I have TCX comp s goretex boots which I got for £150 form teh excel show and I’ve not had any problems with them yet in any weather.
Thanks for all this on the Predator stuff guys. I’m planning on getting a full set of leathers from Spada (Predator Jacket and Jeans in Gunmetal with the gloves) next year. Good to know they’re getting a good response on here!
Also, Spada do make boots. I’ve seen them listed in places, but Feridax don’t seem to stock them. I’ll take a gander around and see if I can find them. Personally, I’m saving up for a pair of Oxford Bone Dry R9s. Only £100 and they actually come in my size! Score!
dunno if they’ll still have any in stock, but try JHS’s store on ebay - I got some Puma Brutale GoreTex from their greenwich store a few months ago, £120 and they’re brilliant. Rode a number of times in heavy rain with them, bone dry and warm.
