well this rear, an avon supersport didnt even last 1000 miles its fooked at 800 miles…
Now come on guys what the heck next…i need one of these dual compound tyres…what do you all recomend…
remember i dont cruise and I dont do commuting on it so its all fun time so I need a sticky tyre but would like one that lasts a bit longer than 1000 miles…the viper sport I had last time was not bad at 1500 miles but I hear some of you getting 3000 miles…on WHAT???
I’ve had Corsa IIIs on twice and been very disappointed with the way they wear, they square off esp on the front, a nasty ridge appears where the compounds meet and it isn’t good.
A couple of weeks ago I put the 2CTs on and boy what a difference, they are more sticky and grippy from the off not sure how they will wear on my bike as I do seem to go through tyres (maybe that’s cos I use my bike) If you want feed back through your bike these will certainly give you that.
Oh and if you’re only getting 1000 miles from a tyre maybe you wanna get your suspension looked at
What sort of mileage would you expect for a front/back tyre for a geared bike?
I seem to get 6k easily on the back tyre, and more on the front, but the post above makes it sound like you’re lucky to get half or a thrid of that on a big bike. Is that right? Must mean you’re in and out the tyre shop like nobody’s business. What about a big touring holiday? (Sorry for all the questions)
I’ve used Diablo III’s on rear of my 7r for past 2 sets - but front is a Super Corsa Pro - I didn’t suffer probs Ang suggests - but my bike doesn’t have 150bhp plus! May be prob with power - try the BT 015’s supposed to be made with 1bhp/1kg type bikes - there’s a guy selling a set for £50 on MCNNinjas - got be worth a pop
Like I mentioned on the rideout and now also stated by Ang…Michelin Pilot Power 2CT ALL THE WAY!6000 miles and counting from the rear tyre. Only changing it now because I’ve got 2 more trackdays before the end of the year, and the tyre is becoming a little square. The heat cycles from 4 trackdays have also reduced grip a little, but they are still legal for road use :w00t:
Ok, I don’t go 180 everywhere (neither should you IMO), but still…These tyres give tremendous grip and mileage…Ask Jonnybravo on here who also has an R1 and got around 5K out of his 2CTs
JUST DO IT! :DPS. Try the 190/55 section rear tyre to speed up turn in speed…Feels lovely (once you get used to it).
hmm, will try to slow up a bit for sure as I am not at all keen to do a stint behind bars for going too fast…nuts really when you think of all the criminals going out to do people harm and commit crime…although I guess we all go out intending to break the speed limit…is that really a criminal act…
Not sure I do 180 all the time, closer to 189 no not really, but guess I am not a sluggard…
yeah he did, it was the rectifier and the battery, then the fuel pump went two weeks later!! good job he has got all the spares laying about the workshop, only had to pay out for the new battery:D just some new brake pads and one new disc now:hehe: tis never ending
