I don’t go screaming through there as such. I do filter if the traffic is backed up or too slow though.
It’s down to the individual I suppose. You take your chances or you don’t…
Killer-2quacks? I always thought there was something odd about Eric’s accent?!? lol
I know what you mean though Quiller, I tend to drop back from the cars in front, drop it down to 2nd gear and just sit there at about 7-8 grand and listen to the exhaust note from my Raven can bounce of the tunnel walls!!
I do sometimes if the smogs really bad or if the traffics moving really slow or sometimes just cos I bl**dy want to (only if theres big gaps in the tarffic)
I come that way every day and some of the antics can look a bit scarey, particularly when you see a gaggle of bikes filtering in the tunnel. I have set myself a rule to stop filtering once the run into the tunnel starts but will break that if things go stationary and I’m breathing in exhaust fumes!
I never understood why anyone would filter at speed through the blackwall tunnel. Too much chance of it turning horrible to save what, minutes, seconds. Nothing against people doing it, just not for me.
Never filter through the Blackwall unless traffic is at a standstill (for a while, not just a moments stop). I do filter through the Lime House link though.
Me too, but I think the circumstances are quite different: the LL does not have solid lines between the lanes, and I think the tunnel itself is wider too.
I used to work at Charlton Pound and never filtered through the tunnel…prefered the noise of the zorst at high revs than tempting fate in moving traffic.
Plus there’s nought worse than getting stuck in there cos someones had a prang…to bliddy hot to be in there any longer than the journey time.
