Just a heads up. planned tunnel closure over the easter weekend. from thursday night to tuesday morning !!!
apparently there will be Northbound access , but southbound its either Dartford / rotherhithe or into town for the bridges.
it will be Chaos !!!

2011 weekend closures You won’t be able to travel south through the tunnel on these weekends:

You can also use the Woolwich ferry. On a bike just ride to the front of the queue and off you go. When the sun is shining it is a beautiful 10 minute journey.

Anybody been through the north bound tunnel today? Went through there this morning and part of the new surface has very fine loose shingle, ended up with loads of it stuck in parts of my bike
Yep, they have laid shell grip on the approach to the tunnel entrance and on the approach and round the bends in the tunnel and as gripy as shell grip is, when it’s freshly laid there is grit everywhere.
Have had to really rein the ride through there in over the last two days as off the main car tyre tracks it’s everywhere.
