Don’t know about carbon but it works a treat on my paintwork. I got it in Halfords (I know, wouldn’t normally cross their threshold but I was after some stuff for the mountain bike).
It’s worked wonders on Foxy’s gixxer.
carbon has a clear laquer on it…use something like Pro-Prep from Silkolene…basically silicone lube. brings carbon up treat…if you need to t-cut then use orig. or it may look blotchy 
or try Mer…very similar to T-Cut, but its finer and incrporates a polish in it too…much nicer
