Knowing I’m talking to the converted and the already experienced/knowledgable, I’d like to recommend the bikesafe course I took this weekend at the warren in Hayes. It was fun, hopefully I learnt something and lunch was included… all for 30 quid. And we ate at a restaurant, so no boil in the back microfood from the Met.
I did a bikesafe course at the Warren a couple of years ago and it was well worth it. Probably time to do another one as I’ve learnt so much since then but probably picked up some bad habits too 
I’d also give it a thumbs up
I did one there several years ago it was good but strange having a police bike follow you around, the plus side being when they bollocked a car driver for pulling out on us.
