Seems fair enough to me… reserve it for the race track or when you aren’t going to get caught!
is this as£hole still mouthing off?
was something not long ago, and allot of us sent in emails, it disgusts me that someone with so much authority, is allowed to consistantly voice his own narrow minded opinions, whilst the rest of us have to sit back and listen!
granted, wheelies on the motorway aint a good idea, but its not just this, this guy just hates bikers.
how many times have you heard him going on about boy racers, or other ******s in flash cars driving dangerously or too fast?
Granted, but he did go on to say that it is the few who ruin it for the majority… as is always the case.
yes but if you look at other comments he posted in the past, he only put that small comment in to watch his ass and keep him covered, so that when people complain, he can say that he did mention it was a small minority…
If it is such a small minority, why does he waste so much time going on about bikers then?
And as a politically correct afterthought he went on: “Of course we in North Wales police recognise that the majority of motorcyclists are decent law-abiding people given a bad name by the hooligans.”
All a bit of fun IMO. Not once did I see the bikes out of control and while the twit writes his blogs I laugh as it makes me want to post movies of trips we have done out there
Yes the BMF have a complaint outstanding about this guy at the moment

He obviously lives in a bungalow, drives a Volvo and is so disconnected from modern society he hasn’t got a clue any more.
"Some of you may have noticed my interest in speeding, particularly if you are a reader of the Daily Mail or the Sun.
I’m determined to change our culture, to make speeding socially unacceptable and so reduce death and injury on our roads."
What a Nob, checkout http://www.abd.org.uk/brunstrom.htm for a full run down on this freak, luckily he is stupid enough to open his mouth on other matters as well.
"Brunstrom’s Daughter
The Sun newspaper caught Brunstrom’s 18 year-old daughter Kate exceeding a speed limit on the A55 as she headed home from work late one night. We believe that the Sun reporter was standing on a pedestrian footbridge over the A55 eastbound into Colwyn Bay, somewhere the police would not set up a radar trap.
The Chief Constable kept uncharacteristically tight lipped on the incident — at least he did until 2004, when he let slip this comment in an interview with the Times:
“It was extremely unpleasant to send a group of men to follow my daughter at night just because it is impossible to catch me speeding”
Playing clever mind games he tries to imply there was something sinister going on here. In fact they didn’t follow her, they just sat on a bridge waiting for her to pass by at a perfectly safe speed. Doubtless he doesn’t consider it ‘unpleasant’ for North Wales Talivan to sit waiting for someone else’s daughter."
It’s also worth pointing out that LESS THAN 4% of accidents are caused by speed - at least 2% of those are by joy riders and the like - where as 38% of accidents are caused by people not paying attention (mobile phone and the such).
So his statement to cut accidents by cutting speed is bollox.
I’ve written to my MP about this to ask why we are spending so much time and effort on speed cameras when what we actually need is more traffic officers pulling more people who do not pay attention - that will have a real impact on accidents. Not profiteering.
Have a read of this
The only facts that count for the police are:
Child killed by speeding (note - 10 million road crossings are carried out by children everyday - the child has a better chance of living than the UK troops)
Speed kills (note - its not speed that kills but bad driving - you can kill everyone in your car at 10mph)
You could go on and on but what is the point. The police have there jobs to do and when you get tugged you face the music. But I’m not going to have one of them giving it large about picking bodies up of the road. As the best way to sort this is MAKE THE F****** ROADS BETTER!
Fair cop, they did wrong and got caught, though I don’t think a public blog is the best place for this chap to be airing his personal opinion, given he’s a public authority figure. Rubs you up the wrong way doesn’t it, especially with his complete disregard to communicating his opinion in a carefully balanced way, as so not to stereotype or discriminate against bikers.
** update, I’ve just seen the video, and for the most part, I was waiting for the offence! All I see are two bikers making good progress through traffic. What I also see are a load of twats in boxes sitting in the wrong lane, meaning others can’t make progress. There were a few bad undertakes which deserve some attention, but come on, does that video really scream “LUNATICS!!!”? I don’t think so. How about 200 cases of lane-hogging from other motorists?
Speeding is speeding though of course, but all too easy to do on roads like that where you have such perfect visibility ahead.
Fnar…
Perhaps our boys in blue who deal with this stuff can shed some light on the realities of riding like that. Does it cause accidents?
Must remember to sell the volvo
They got caught speeding and riding like twits. Fair call IMO. 12 months wasnt an over the top punishment for the undertake, excess speed, wheely and a few dodgy filters.
just seen the vid and what a disappointment, i was expected to see a pair of lunatics ripping it up through north Wales, maybe a bit of stunting or something specially after the way it was written on this guys blog.Maybe we can arrange a day release for him to pop down the Ace on a busy summer sunday and then he can see some real lunatics perform their art.
as an after thought he could get the address from the Bikesafe web site
Sent him a nasty long comment (With name and address if he wants to debate matters).
That particular video doesn’t do bikers justice.
They are doing manky undertakes and slipping in and out of vehicle blind spots making them the ‘meat’ in a meat sandwich…
The Hard shoulder is a big NO-NO…neither of them checked up the inside for an emergency vehicle which would be approaching from the rear.
Of course the cars were displaying bad lane discipline (whats new) but to push through like those two lads did just lowered thier standards to that of the car drivers.
if we ride like that all you are going to do is hand the appropriate anti-biking groups the ammunition they desperately crave for.
We, at times, can be our own worst enemy.
i saw the video and to be honest i didn’t think that was too bad, apart from the undertaking on the left side.
thank god i left london, well with having ten points already, and recently getting off a ban, i was sure to get banned again, and this is exactly the reason i love where i live now, i drive like those two guys everyday, i hit 274 Km/h. im thinking about staying here for a good couple of years, the weather today is 24 degrees, and im leaving the office to go directly to the autobahn.
the thing is, is that with no limit autobahn, the accident rate, is very low, car drivers here, are very observant and they actually use their mirrors, when they see me approaching them, they move to the slower lane. car drivers respect motorcyclists here. fullstop.
Funny that they were almost hitting 100mph, i beleive it is something most of us does everyday anyway? How many of you actually does 70mph on motorways?
I bet the hundreds of lane hogging cars were not booked…
for the uneducated “one of the riders did a ‘wheelie’ (lifting the front wheel off the ground)”
