Ok so theres the nod, meaning hello, hiya, wotcha fellow biker.
But what about other signals. I have heard thru the grapevine (nothing confirmed) that the following means the following:
Tapping the top of your helmet to oncoming bikes: Wotch out police/speed trap ahead on your side of the road
Raising left hand: thanks
Sticking your leg out: Ive seen you zooming up behind feel free to pass on this side. I tend to use this when some nutter speed filterer comes up behind when i’m pussying about in traffic. I often get nods or waves.
Thumbs up when on side of road: I’m Ok dont bother stopping
Breakdancing on the side of the road: Ive got a wasp in my leathers
Now personally, sticking my leg out usually means my knee armour is in the wrong place or my undercrackers are rain wet/sweaty, and poking my fingers out above the bar levers means my gloves need drying out, whilst shaking my head means i have an itchy ear thats realy doing my head in or some twat in an audi/volvo/bmw has just cut me up/pushed me into a bus.
Is there any rules/ anything else that is common? or is it all sh1tebags?
Regards,
R
