as i was taking my bike to the mechanic to check y my brake light was stuck on all the time , i got half way there and my front brakes seized up outside brixton police station and i went sliding down the road thank god ive only got a few grazes but thank god thats it, and the bike needs a paint job and an engine case , i hope theres no hidden damage …well GUTTED !!!
Unlucky mate! :pinch:
On the bright side, you’re still walking around (any crash you walk away from is a good one!) and you’ve found out why your brake light was staying on!
did you not sense anything wrong with the steering
the caliper must of been compressed whilst you were riding for a while
you was v-lucky
hope you get it sorted without to much cost
good luck
actually i did feel it when i pulled the clutch the bike was slowing down alot but like an idiot i thought its only down the road il push through …and yeah thank god i walked away my last accident had me in a coma for 2 weeks 6 months in hospital and over 25 operations …this is the 1st bike ive owned since the crach on the 5th of april 2004,i need to learn to follow that gut feeling more …still gutted tho
this does give me the chance to give her a nice airbrush finish or even do her matt black now or maybe just part exchange for something newer
…
put more stickers on use it and learn more be4 upgrading
i dont think my skill had anything to do with either crash ,just unnecessary risks with a bit of unluckiness on the side …
sorry to hear this and for the brake to suddenly activate with no action from you worries me …
possible cause … stone lodging itself into the caliper … hose trapped somewhere and suddenly released the pressure build up …
also riding it with the brake lights perm on can ask for trouble … they get disregarded after a while same as leaving an indicator on …you take no notice … and results in unsuspecting vehicle behind you not realising you are actually stopping/slowing down
Ouch!:pinch:
Hope the damage isn’t bad, to you or the bike.
I think redmetalcarrie got it about right…Ouch!!
You’re ok though
damn mate!!! glad youre ok!
sorry to hear mate. at least you are ok!
was at FWR when you phoned! :w00t: didnt see the bike from upclose but Bob said there is more damage than cosmetic :pinch: hope it doesnt cost too much!
how are you feeling post crash? nothing starting to ache i hope
Hope you’re not too badly beaten up.
thanks evreybody ,just got back from the mechanics ,part of the brake lever broke off and wedged itself inside jamming the brakes ,shes gonna be back on the road by next week anybody know a good cheap sprayer in south london to do her all matt black ??? still gutted but glad i escaped with just a grazed knee
Damn, feel better mate. At least the damage isnt too too bad To you, or the bike!
Man, not good, sorry to hear that. We all crash at some point but if you are un injured then its good news.
Blimey, freak accident or what :w00t:
Glad you’re not badly hurt, and good luck in getting the bike sorted.
jeez…glad your ok fella!
looking at the leaver (bob showed me) it look like it was broken before hand and had a piece floating about waiting to do damage :pinch:
guess the previous owner dropped/crashed it??
