Biker Down . . .

Woke up to a lovely morning, so I decided to ride to the 02 for a training course.

On the way, approaching Catford, the 4x4 ahead of me was turning left in to a side road. As i caried on past the big ass 4x4, a Mazda 3 pulled out of the side road, and went straight in to the side of me.

I remember seeing the car pull out, as I swerved, I saw he was not stopping, and then the next thig I knew I was on the floor. Feet did not touch the floor, hit the road with shoulder/head - cant remember which first.

I am OK, after the police stopping the traffic, while the ambulance packaged me up in head brace, spinal board etc, it appears that I dislocated my shoulder off the car/bike, and reconnected it once I hit the floor.

Sunsequent muscle damage around my shoulder, but have been told to use my arm and keep it moving.

Shoulder, Back and Neck ache at the moment - gonna make sure i get down to the doctor on Monday, to check everything is as it should be.

The bike is another story, where the car hit my near side, the fairing is smashed and dented. The crash bung and bolts have been bent/pushed in to the bike, which has also taken out the coolant tank. Both crash bungs need replacing.

Thahts all I can really see at the mo.

See pics below . . . . .

Hope the police are doing the cager for Driving without Due Care and Attention etc… Could’ve been a lot worse buddy! :ermm:

Mate that sucks.

Glad to hear your ok though, as with these things the bike can be repaired, but that is no consolation i know.

Hope you get things sorted real soon and see you out and about riding again soon.

Gods man, hope you heal up soon. Bikes can be replaced, you can’t!

Did they stop?

ouch man, i know just how it feels, hope all is sorted soon dude.

Really sorry to hear this…Bloody car drivers…Did any witnesses stop?

Hope everything is sorted soon.

Hope you feel better and get the bike fixed.

Take it easy mate, you’ll recover in no time…hope the driver of that car actually got out to help and admit their mistake. Feel for you dude :ermm:

Glad you are alright. I guess that’s just what you didn’t need on top of the job strife.

Hope you sort it out alright fella.

Aaah no a J1 model as well :crying:
Glad you’re OK though

Thanks for all your replys, good to know people care.

The guy did stop, he was pretty shaken up from what i remember.

HE was a Medivac Surgeon for the Royal London Hospital, so he kept me imobilised till the ambulance arrived,

His insurance company has already contacted me, offering me assistance, and trying to sort out my claim internally, rather than through my insurers.

Does this mean he has admitted liability to them?

I am feeling
ok, just very very stiff. Neck and back has stiffened right up, and shouler is really aching.

Making sure i get to the #doctor tomorrow.

Thanks again!

Chris

fingers crossed it gets sorted soon mate and glad you not to injured

must be numpty season as nearly got sideswiped on way back from yarmouth today…dunno how the mypic prat missed us more luck than judgement, nigh on sh*t myself :D:D

got back alongside at a roundabout n he wouldnt even look at the mental case screaming obcenities at him…still it woke karen up on the back :D:D

Wow, bad luck fella, that’s rotten luck! Sounds quite clear cut though so should get cleared up easily enough. The driver was an LAA staffer? That’s somewhat ironic and unfortunate. Still, easy to see how the situation could have come about. We’re not always the visible objects in the road. Best of luck healing that shoulder quickly.

glad you’re relatively ok, get yourself to the doctors quick sharp. Hope the claim goes ok for you.

gutted for you glad you are ok

Thats crap Chris!! Hope your okish, get yourself to docs for a check over, get well soon.

Sorry to hear about your off.

Make sure you get your shoulder checked out. Similar thing happend to my left shoulder in a smash I had over 14 years ago, and to this day I still have issues with it. My mistake was I ignored it and although I now have full motion, it’s not 100%.
