i know that this should be in the rideouts section but i thought that it would receive the most coverage here…
i have just spoke to andrea on the phone and i am heartbroken…i could’nt help but have a lump in my throat as she explained how much she loved that bike, which brought me to this post…
i want to organise a rideout this month/start of next month that is open to everybody who feels that BIKE THEIFT SHOULD BE STOPPED!!!
it would consist of a slow ride through london past westminster up toward trafalger square, were we would park our bikes and walk in full leathers and helmets back to westminster, past NO 10 around westminster square and back to our bikes were we could go to a venue of choice…
details will be iron’d out but for now,i would just like to see what support i would get…
i would get in toutch with all media so as too get full coverage…
other organisation’s would also be notified and other like minded forums t’boot…
i know there’s been a few of us that have had our bikes stolen this past year(most recent andrea),and the termoil that follows it…
so please place feedback on when is the best times for most…and if you could attend…
thankyou for your time guy’s…please…lets make this happen…
Can’t make this or anything else for the rest of the year.
Careful, someone might think that you’re trying to get a load of bikes all parked up in the same place with their oweners walking in the opposite direction to make it easy pickings for them there theives!!! Lets face it, if everyone is in their kit, they’re not exactly going to be running anywhere fast back to their bikes!!!
Have to say, although I am not nieve, blades post reminded me about the unscrupulous people out there.
Given that this is seeminly a march on parliament, dont you need to get special permission for these sorts of things. I know it is meant to be a country of free speech and all that, but we all know it’s b0lloxs.
Or, if it’s just a general ride out that is different. I somehow dont think that government are going to make any policy changes or “free up” any police man power to prevent or minimise bike thefts. Much like the car industry has done, it is the manufactures which should during the contruction process who should be automotically fitting anti theft devices to the bikes. Ok, it’s much more difficult to lift a car, but you catch my drift?
Yup, ya need to fill in a form at a police station to request special permission to protest about anything within a mile radius of Parliament methinks. We had to do the same thing for a peaceful vigil.
