Do the BMF magazine (Motorcycle Rider) or the MCN or any bike magazine sponsor things? I’m thinking of doing a certain event and was wondering if they’d consider paying part of it in exchange of a write-up? It’s only a few hundred pounds, but if I’d get somebody else to pay for it, so much the better…
I was reading the BMF magazine the other day and they have a story about a couple of guys doing a ride London-Vladivostok, and was wondering if they would have been paid for it.
I actually have something in mind I got info for today, and am thinking of doing it in any case, but was wondering if any bike magazines actually work like it.
Thought to ask in case anybody has experience of these matters.
Paivi , if you have an adventure in mind perhaps it would be easier for you to get sponsorship if you tell them that you will be followed and covered by the LB articles page. We can provide you with an article exposing your sponsor to our viewers, photo gallery etc etc… Does it sound interesting to you?
I have a european circuit planned, I have called it short way round, if I get a celeb to bike with me, then I could sign books and become an ambassador for bike shows… lol
no seriously, I have a trip planned, I was thinking of doing a write up and photo/video journal to sell when I finished.
Well, my first idea looks unlikely to get a bike magazine sponsorship, possibly a bike manufacturer one, though. My second idea might be a good one.
Looking to still do the first one over the winter, whether I get sponsorship or not, and the second one September 2006 or May 2007, depending on sponsorship. But, obviously, if somebody was willing to cover some of the costs involved, I’d be happy, hence looking at getting official sponsorship.
Keeping both under my helmet at the moment. If anybody, apart from Cezar, has any experience about how to go about getting sponsorship etc from bike companies and/or magazines, feel free to PM me. Once the ball is rolling, I can let you peeps know what kind of plans I’m hatching.
