bike knocked over - worth chasing?

So I return home from work today (first day after a great roadtrip - more about that in another thread) and this is what I find…

any damages?

EM

After calmly walking into my flat, changing clothes etc, I pick her up. No major harm done, perhaps a few extra scratches.

I also found a piece of paper saying:
I live opposite & watched some idiot knock your bike over. I got his license plate number so if there’s any damage call me - (number)"

First of all, I award myself the Zen Master award for calmness.
Second, is this worth chasing? I mean, just to be able to know who the jerk who did it is, and give them a little bit of a scare. Can’t let this pass without even a small telling-off, can we? I mean, what sort of an attitude is that?

Update: I just talked with my neighbour who witnessed this, he says there were more than 2 car parking spots next to the bike, and the idiot drove right into my bike!

that’s crap … you were lucky that the bags of (soil?), cushioned the fall.A similar thing happened to me back in Sydney. Thankfully, someone saw the mini bus reverse into it.

mate, call the cops and chase it up … don’t let the fker get away with it!

Damn! What a shite scene to arrive home to! :frowning:

I hope everything is okay/ not too bad.

I was extremely lucky (as usual when something stupid happens) in that there were these sand/dirt/junk bags next to the bike and it fell on them. I just can’t take this behavior… in the words of The Dude “I do mind! The Dude minds! This aggression will not stand man!”

Perhaps it’s worth asking the police.
Should the driver be reported?

If they were to do this again, your report might help someone else who doesn’t have sandbags to cushion a fall

**** mate!! well deserved award there!! I would be droping my suitcases and running to my bike!!

i think a call to the cops /insurance comp is in order…just to check

definitely report it to the police. Once it is registered I believe they have to send you some paperwork to describe what happened, I believe that the same letter will be sent to the other part.

I mean what do you have to loose. You dont have to take it to the insurance comp but atleast its registered with the cops…

You would not just leave it would you???

If i was you mate id find the car and carv T W A T on the bonnet

Once he has paid for the damage :w00t:

+1 :D…don’t s’pose theres much chance of findin his address tho so you should defo report it .

What a pain in the @ss,

I like what shakey and zine have put forward :hehe:

Nah, I won’t involve the insurance leeches. The bike is only on a green card right now anyway (3rd party coverage only I believe), so I don’t have much to gain.

I’d just hate to let such behaviour go like this. I mean, leave a flippin’ note or something…

The police asked me to visit the local station and fill in a form, including contact info of the eye witness. Got the lad’s permission and am off to the station…

cool good luck tell us what happens! :stuck_out_tongue:

Report it - if he was driving that badly he may not be qualified to be on the road anyway and needs stopping before he does more damage.

+1

And if he is qualified, it seems like he shouldn’t be.

Make the clumsy, stupid, selfish, no-respect, waste of space, piece of sh1t pay for it! Nail him! Tie him to the bike and drag him up and down the road! Ok - maybe that’s going too far. . . but see you get justice!

+10 to the others report it and hope the plate isn’t a ringer, that is just not on.

Damn right, report it, that sucks. Get in contact with the driver some how and give them a chance to set things right.
