I asked and got the following reply:

my query would be the following… say you come off at low speeds with now damage to the bike. Now technically that is an accident and your insurer would want to know about it (I assume). Who here though would declare it, as we know any accident will put premiums up when renewal is due?
Would that be logged somewhere and insurance companies could access it?
Tbh I wouldn’t have it installed…
when they call to see if theres a problem, just tell them it’s all ok.
