Bike Covers

I bought a new bike cover yesterday at the show. Before i had the Oxford Rainex which was good but this is better and for the same price.

Got A Stormex one is awesome very thick and keeps moisture out

I got the same thing meself Anil…well pleased with it too !!

I’m on my second Stormex, the first one was ace but the second one does seem to let a fair bit of moisture build up.

The best thing is you can just chuck it straight on after a ride, no having to wait for the bike to cool down.

john…it looks like a bike now…

Sorry to ask a stupid question but what about the hot exhaust, doesn’t it burn through?

Hot exhausts will burn through plastic ones. I had a waterproofed (or not so waterproofed, as it turned out to be) one which was fine with the exhaust. I’ve got some crazy cover now… not sure what it’s made of but it’s not plastic, and that’s fine.

Helpful, eh?

I got a stormex aswell - Very pleased!

I always wait for the can to cool down before i put the cover on.

So what are you supposed to do when you get home in the pouring rain so the bike’s already wet and the exhaust’s hot - do you sling the cover on with the bike wet, do you leave it just standing there (the cover’s not going to prevent it getting any wetter than it is already) and what happens if it keeps raining for days? Or do you go in, get your umbrella and the best towel, dry off the bike as best you can and stand out there with the brolly until the exhaust cools down?

I know the sensible answer would be to put it in the garage but if you don’t have one of those…

Answers on a postcard please, addressed to the stupid one from Surrey

The Stormex has a lining which allows you to put it straight on even when hot.

i use a great tucano cover and keti has the same!, they are great, all silky lined too!!

just got a new oxford cover for 2100pound i have to wait for engine to cool down b4 putting cover on but works ok

2100 pound jeez thats exspensive !!! think ya got ripped off  got a moto gp one and those you can put on a hot pipe cos they lined with heat resistant stuff

I have a HEAD cover. Very disappointing as it seems totally porous,
