just put Pirelli ANGEL ST on my 'bird reasonable price and seem fine now the worn in, just need to see how many miles they last but they handle nice in wet or dry conditions
I run Pilots on the Firestorm. They’re good in the wet and the front lasted very well (150 mile a week commute). Unfortunately I had to replace the rear as it was punctured and couldn’t be repaired so can’t give you milage on that.
Don’t know where you live but try FWR Tyres in Kennington (020 7820 7818) or Essential Rubber in N1 (020 7241 0055) they’ll give you some recommendations.
Pilot Road 2s all the way! Bung some ultraseal in them and you’ll be sorted… last and last and last… And great fun on weekend…
Couldnt recommend a tyre more.
Doesn’t that ultraseal stuff make them hard and a problem for the mechanic when it comes to changing them???
I fitted Pilot Road 2CTs to my previous Bandit and they’d covered 7k miles when I sold the bike last month. Still lots of tread left and not squared off. Will fit them to my new bike when the time comes. A top tyre.
im sure jay will 2nd these, he used em on his trip to italy for a week and when he got back the tyre’s still looked fairly new :w00t:
Pilot Road 2cts - can’t comment on mileage as haven’t had them long - but I’ve heard they are good for 7k and more - also very responsive, sticky and great lean angles.
Great tyre.
Thanks All guys Got a pair of pilot road 2s will let you know how I get on with them. Going hastings on saturday so give them a good scrubbing in.
Thanks for all your help.
Just seen this, so bit late, but the Pilot Road 2s I have are brilliant. Fronts done 11k and has 1k left I’d say. Rear 180 section has done about 5k and there’s plently (3k?) left. Commute, weekend thrash and 2700 miles in Europe in torrential rain, high heat, autobahn for hours at 120 mph. No probs, brilliant tyre for all round road use. BUT I might put Dunlop Roadsmarts on next, just as good apparently (wet and dry and life), bit cheaper.
In fact the PR2s are the only tyre I can recall NOT having a slip in the wet on. So thats nice
Well with it was defo raining on my way home yesterday @ 1930 and I could give the bike a lot more beans compared to my old tyres they felt so much more secure.
