Best service in London?

Hi all,

I’ve recently bought an old fireblade 1998 model to replace my bran new one which was stolen. The one I’ve bought has done 22000m, and is due a service at 24 (full history so far).

I’m pretty concerned that is going to be a lot of money… Anyone got any good tips in terms of where to take it?

Cheers,
Ben

ask Tim (Scorch on the forum)

mrs miggins?

I took mine at 1st Line Motorcycles Ltd in North London.

Call and ask for Steve to help you out.

Can’t complain with the service I got… you can always compare prices.

OMC…

Order your parts, get them all delivered there and get your hands dirty and get the assistance of the mechanics there.

try swallow motors in harrow ive used them loads seemed a decent price for services and parts

One vote against using this company as they are very conniving and sly as I found out due to an issue I had.

  • 1 for Tim (Scorch) and Rob The Mechanic (check out the Praise section for both). Rob looks after my Kwacker, Tim looks after the Beemer (I like to share the love!!)

As an example I had a lot of work done on the Beemer last week

18,000 mile service
DID X-ring chain and JT carbon steel sprockets
Bendix brake pads front & rear
NGK plugs
Castrol Oil, K&N oil filter
K&N air filterPlus 4.5 hours labour, travelling charge to get from Watford to Southbank (he travels to you with his tools!!), plus congestion charge

Total cost £384 - was very happy. BMW would have charged more that in labour alone!

+1 for Scorch.

So far he has fitted a new chain and sprocket, 12V socket and HID lights!

Amazing price and great guy

£384 parts & labour??

Sounds like it was. As he said BMW would of been more just labour alone

CurlyAlly is in fact a she, but yes that is correct - £384, parts, labour, travelling cost and congestion charge as Tim was kind enough to come to me, so I didn’t waste a day at the weekend getting it done. He did it while I was at work.

BMW charge £100 labour per hour, plus VAT, so just labour cost would have been £540, before you add any marked up parts from them!! Of course they may have taken slightly less time knowing the bike inside out, but still a considerable saving.
