Best place to buy gloves in London?

Having seen the state of my friends hands after hitting a pothole on his bicycle it highlights that its probably not too smart to still be riding around with a pair of 3.99 petrol station thinsulate gloves.

So tomorrow i am going out and getting a nice summer pair (have aldi waterproof ones).

I havent brought gear in ages, which shops would have the biggest selection of gloves within the m25?

Cheers in advance

J&s in Watford normaly have a large selection ( just outside m25 ) but easy if your that side of London , likewise George White in Slough again outside M25 but easy to get to if your on that side ( they do loads of FT clearance stock)

You also have Hein Gericke and Infinity dotted around as well.

if ur near east london Harpers in forest gate have a massive selection

Infinity Holborn are pretty good. Their staff are very knowlegable.

I’ve got a pair of these http://londonbikers.com/news/12866/london-based-arc-on-launches-new-stinger-glove-for-2010 for review and will be at Borough tonight with them.

Come and have a gander, they are really impressive for the money and Ian (owner of arc-on) is London based but web-only so come along tonight and see what you think. I should be there about 6.30/7 on a red ZX-7R.

Hein Gericke are usually good for gloves and have a sale on:

For the record, Rivetts in Leytonstone has closed their store.

So don’t bother going there.

+1, I use both George Whites and J&S. But I use the New Malden J&S so it’s within the M25

Thanks for all the ideas, just what i was looking for.

Im probably going to head over to J&S Watford, and turn that into a ride out to Aylesbury way :stuck_out_tongue:

I brought my leather jeans over at new malden J&S but on the website it looks as if watford is bigger and might have more.

If i dont find anything i might swing back via the A4 and have a look at george whites,

And then if i get really despirate i will come back into central and check out infinity/hein gericks.

I would buy on ebay, but i have the cash burning a hole in my pocket and i want gloves today

Cheers all

If you plan going up there have a look into http://www.glfaccessories.com/ He sells Held gloves which are the best gloves I’ve ever seen. I tried Alpinestars and all the usuals but Held are just a class above.

Hideout leather http://www.hideout-leather.co.uk/ also sell them if you fancy a ride over there, some nice roads in that area.

I got my SP1’s from MotoDen, shoreditch. They had a good selection of summer gloves last year

I ended up getting a pair at infinity hangar lane, i wasent going to spend as much as i did but they just fit so nicely…

They are so nice and clean i was shocked after the ride back to my girlfriends how dirty my bike is that it stained the kangaroo palm… so i just went out and cleaned the levers/grips :stuck_out_tongue:

Sondel on Holloway Road. Good selection and great staff. Got my girlfriend a pair there last week.

I regularly use the Hanger Lane Infinity store-very helpful (above and beyond the call of duty!), friendly and have some great bargins regularly…

Oh and forgot to mention they have a great range in stock-gloves are like helmets-just because it looks pretty doesn’t mean it will fit your head, etc…When I have bought gloves, etc there, because you park round the back, you can go and check the fit of you and your gloves on the bike prior to final purchase…always helps

george whites on Shoreditch high road has a fair selection of gloves.
