Be Careful Around Carnival!

To cut a long long story short, right by north wharf road (paddington basin ish under the a40 overpass). There is a roundabout, and a left hand band. as i go through it the bike just lets go, slides out under me. My draggin jeans saved my knee from road rash, stupidly i wasent wearing gloves so one of my fingers suffered. And even though my trainers (cant wear boots at carnival) came off my feet escaped injury. I was lucky.

My bike was not so lucky, Everything down the left side took a bashing.
Clutch and bracket snaped off
Headlight smashed
somehow the top of the clocks got damaged, maybe the bike fliped
Handle bars wrecked
Gear lever bent
Pegs bent
Centrestand bent…

Theres more but i wont go on…

I am trying to determine if i can take legal action against westminster council, as from what i understand north warf road is where the entire cleanup crew (dust trucks) is based. And i saw some of them just before the bend. I had no means to take a photo at the time and had to push the bike 3 miles to a friends house, through carnival (that was fun, got alot of bemused looks). Would it be worth going back there tomorow (if i can get down there) and taking pictures of what i am sure will be a repeat performance by westminster council?

Any advice on this is welcome, and take care around tomorow and during the cleanup after the roads are ****in filthy.

Sorry to hear of your off mate. Glad you’re not too bad though.

As for WCC, they are a right pain, in my old job I worked alongside them for years and were always a nightmare.

I would think that anything that may help in a claim against them would help. I should imagine if there was problems on the road yesterday then there will be problems on the road tomorrow. Give it a go and good luck.

years ago I had money off thames water for damage caused by a dodgy pothole and didnt even have to bother with a solicitor

Jeepers. A sorry bunch we are

I know too well now how you must feel - sympathies dude

TheDon glad your okay sorry about the bike, what do you ride if I see any parts while im out part hunting for my baby ill let you know.

GS500 Mate, Bidding on some clocks/console on ebay now… will need handlebars (clip ons i think), and the clutch/bracket also…

Oh for the clutch lever and other small bits try a few dealers first, my clutch lever cost me £16 band new and was cheaper than any I had seen on eBay plus you don’t have to wait for it to arrive in the post
