Can you clarify where in Richmond Park we are meeting? Some of us live about fifteen minutes away so will be going there directly. Will there be access through all gates or are there specified access routes we are meant to use?
I thought I did fella…
"Those that want to head direct to Richmond Park can do so but a word of warning…The Approach to the Park (The Sheen Gate Exit) is Residential and there will be Breakthrough and Limelight Management Operatives there to Supervise and Monitor Noise Levels " !! (best behaviour please).

Early Evening Bump for those that have just got home !!! ![]()
Sorry. I would rather you were as clear as possible about where as you are about when to avoid any misunderstanding. Are you saying we can only approach via Sheen Gate? If so please make that clear. I will be approaching from a completly different direction and would prefer to arrive through the park rather than ride a very long way round it if possible. I am sure the residents of Sheen would prefer that also.
Arrival…and Departure… EAST SHEEN GATE EVERYBODY !!
One point fella…you ride through that Park and get anywhere near the Creremony or Preperation Area you,ll be off the Firm Instantly…not my doing…
There has been meeting after meeting with the Parks Authority, Police / Limelight and Breakthrough about who,s allowed on Richmond Park and its been carved in Granite that we are NOT to enter it on Bikes / Ride anywhere near the Opening Ceremony or any Walkers Preperation Area or we will be instantly removed and the Staff Passes will Not be given for the Route which in turn means no Staff Pass / No Insurance to be on Route = Red Card and an Early Bath !!
I dont want to come across like Im sounding off here but it will cost us the day and the people at the top mean bizznizz where this is concerned.
“East Sheen Gate” to get set for the Departure of the Walkers and thats as far as our Bikes go ““Please”” !!!
Thank You.

Erm… can someone remind me of the date? Unless i’m being particulary thick (possible) or stoopid (also possible) I can’t see it anywhere…
thanku muchly… Q
Its all over the sticky post links but for you…
Its on Saturday 8th of September ![]()
Thanks for clarifying that Barra. Without explicit instructions to the contrary it wasn’t clear why I should add something like four miles to my journey instead of riding direct to Sheen Gate. I now understand completly.
Given the importance of not approaching by any other route it may be best to make that clear in the sticky as I imagine few people from the area would interpet “The Approach to the Park (The Sheen Gate Exit) is Residential” to mean “You must approach by Sheen Gate”. I interpeted it to mean the opposite as Sheen Gate is the only gate involving acccess through quiet residential streets.
Last week I spent ages searching for the sticky post (because I use recent posts view - it never appears)
Just in case there’s anyone else like me

Reading through it I can see your point and Ive added to the original sticky post…

Thank-you, without that clarification I would have been given a Red Card also.

so now I know your making your own way…do me a favour Jim ?
Make sure the early arrivals are parked up and looked after please…engines off and to wait at the Entrance / Exit… for rest of the Team and more importantly…the Reps from Breakthrough and Limelight !!
(just in case they wander over and check up and stuff !!)
You,ll see Stu_sv there early too and he knows the score !!
It would be a big help to me fella if ya could…![]()
Which one is the Sheen Gate entrance / Exit - I’m being a bit thick and should know it but my mind has gone blank, also looked on the map and they’re not named.
Apologies !
Hello mate Sheen Gate is on Sheen Lane which is off Upper Richmond Road.

And is the smallest, quietest and most obscure, most difficult to find entrance to the park, and isn’t even on the main circuit of the Park.
If looking at a map of the park, it is the gate on the north side just west of the northernmost point. On the OS 50000 Landranger maps it isn’t even named, but the car park there is marked.
Got it, cheers Gentlemen.
No worries.
I do need to undergo your “This is what we do” talk sometime…
I,ll make time to meet up with you on that one along with anyone else that has any questions ![]()
Cheers ![]()
Depending on what duties are required of me that day I might be on the Fuoco - I’ll send you a copy of the insurance certificate.
