A few of us (me, CGB, WeeFrenchie and BingoBongo) are well up for doing a BCR for the first time this Sunday. Personally I’ve long wanted to join the fun, and missed out too many times.
SneakyMcC is planning to join us for the first few miles, though can we tempt some more BCR regulars to show us the best routes? Or even take over the ride
If everyone’s busy, we’re happy to do our own approximation, and everyone’s welcome to join us (though being as we’re new to the BCR, best if you’re not too new either!).
Hope to see you Sunday!
Zander
PS - from reading previous write-ups and Sneaky’s personal advice, we’ll be taking it quite relaxed and relatively safe!
Am sure you will have fun and get some BCR veteran to assist! I did the BCR in 2008 when I had the Hornet and it was great fun. In fact I had Ratty to thank for sticking with me round the twisties and Sneaky to thank for accompanying me back down the M11 at the end - there are many gents on this ride who will look after BCR newbies:D
Mind you haven’t done it since then being away for a while and that - but you will be sure to have a blast:D Might accompany you on another Sunday but can’t do this weekened.
Oh Zander, there’s a detour that we do if its just super-retards on the ride. If you guys aren’t on tards, make sure those mofo’s take you on the regular route…
Whilst I understand that the desire to watch me tumble comically into some bushes may be huge, sadly this might be the last weekend I get for a long time to go down to Cheltenham so I am making the most of it…
I think what I’ll need is a guide to do a quick tour before the real thing! Either that or another newbie session…
Weather dependent I may be up for it, although it’s looking highly unlikely based on current forecast - I’m not brave enough to do a wet BCR, no matter what pace!
But I missed it the last time (its was you mowing someones lawn with you face on the Jizzstream ride wasn’t it?)
Nonsense! The ride is as fast as you want to make it because the others riders may get ahead and out of sight at times, but they wont turn off the road you are on without stopping to reform at the junction where you’ll need to turn off. So riding at your own pace means that when you see the group, they’re likely to turn off or they want to make sure that everyone is still shiny side up.
Again, you’ll be doing your own thing, so weather isnt a factor…apart from that dusty section near Thaxted on the B183 where the dust turns to a thin layer of yuk, that might focus your mind!:w00t: Its only 300yrds long:)
I’m up for it… whether or not I’ll still be up at the end of it is another matter. I’m going to provisionally put my name down for it for the weekend after (depending on flat hunting and previous night’s drinking)…
I’ll pass on this one as the Cotswolds are calling…
