BBC not putting us in a good light...

I’m with sleeper here, cant see where it mentions any1 else but organised bike clubs, dont say anything about the rest of the bike population.

i remember working in a pub frequented by the Satans Slaves, a bunch of scary looking custom bike/Harley riders that lived on a reputation of fear and violence, but always said please and thank you and only got arsey if you touched their bikes, birds or beer. and I certainly benefited from their assistance when it got a bit out of hand in the pub.

but i thought they were great guys and always friendly. even to the scooter boys that popped in now and again. when the leader died it was the most amazing funeral ive ever seen 1/4 of a mile of bikers from all over paid tribute to their fallen brother, and they were not all patch wearers.

we had meetings at the pub with the Slaves from all over the world, the devils disciples, and even the Iron Bikers of Bavaria.

seems that no one picks on the gangs of cage drivers driving round killing people or even the gangs of uniform/colour wearing schoolkids that beat up innocent people in the street everyday.

Nice for the media to have someone else to point the finger at.

and there is even a patch wearing bike group called the Blue Knights and they are a right bunch of wrong uns’ all serving or ex police, fireservice, prison service etc wouldnt wanna come across them on a dark evening.

so all you media types…leave us alone were just bikers

coughs politely and hopes no bad biker types 'ave a go at him

Cage Drivers…

Gangs…

Pretty much every group in society at some point gets some ‘bad press’.

even polite old people

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgow_and_west/6577123.stm

(obviously reading this one means that the BBC are saying that all old people are kiddy fiddlers)

How so?

That’s because you ride a bike and therefore know you are not part of any gang like this…unfortunately not everyone who reads the story will think like you do…

because I’m applying the same logic that reading this

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6944876.stm

says that all bikers are violent ******s.

m

I can see where you are coming from of course. However, to me, these other items are individual news stories - based on current live events and not a collecton of past stories ‘cobbled together’. In the piece I highlighted it appears to be more for background info / inside line sort of an article if you will…

My point being that as a result many non bikers reading this piece could come away and label all bikers in a negative light.

Jeeez…that is truly a poorly written piece of crap journalism. It causes me to wonder if the writer has completed his A levels???

Do you read The Daily Mail?

no need to I just go to bbc.co.uk/news - boom boom!

LOL, I’m loving the fact that you have linked the BBC and Daily Fascist…sorry Daily Mail to each other Must have been a hard day with the pies and sleeping

HUmm although say we go out on the rideout this saturday - there could well be 10-20 bikes on it, which although isnt a huge number, if we ride through a town/village, I reckon a mjority of people will think - there goes a biker gang, they probably are all drug dealers and violent types, horrible horrible bikers, must write to my MP, etc,etc - whereas it couldnt be further from the truth…normal people just out for a blast.

But then as Matt says, journalists need a target, whichever is flavour of the month they will write about… (worked for the Daily Telegraph for 8 years btw…)
