bargain or mistake on e-bay

Tried on a schuberth c3 when i was walking round hein gericke, really liked the feel of it.Sales woman was getting a bit pushy saying i"ll do it for £405 if you buy it today,i told her i"d have a think on it.Went home to look on e-bay & the cheapest £427 at the time.Well i had a look sunday night & there was a company doing them for £350 buy it now with free p&p:unsure:,so i looked & looked again & at the bottom of there advert it stated they where reduced to £427,but it was £350 at the top.Well i hit the button & paid with paypal & checked it was £350 all the way through the transaction.Monday morning it was back to £427 buy it now,& my helmet arrived on tuesday:w00t:

I think lids have manufacturing dates on them - chek it out. Might be under some of the padding.

Hope its kosher … for your sake!

+1

I personally would never buy a helmet on the internet or from a shop I don’t know and trust.

why not ? how do you know how long a shop has had them in a storeroom or a manufacturer before shipping same as brand new cars probably been sitting in field for ages or a new bike sat in warehouse for months on end, I know where there is an 848 in a warehouse near me thick with dust its been there that long :w00t:

you pays your money you take your chance

I understand what you’re saying, but that’s why I said a shop I trust. And buying from the internet has just a few extra stages where things can go wrong (i.e. it’s likely been banged around in the back of a courier/royal mail van).

With a car or bike, you can buy a melon, but you’ll probably know before it kills you.

Even if you know & trust a shop, alot can happen to a helmet after it leaves the factory!

I agree with that Wildcard, bike journos get lids sent to them to try out and they ride more than most
