Begs the question - what’s a “recognition expert”?
a friend of mine used to work at the police office who deal with the camera pictures , they have loads of pictures of of bikes stuck up on the walls there …
what they do is compare camera pictures with pictures of bikes that might have been taken else where in the area , cctv pictures and from cars then see if they can match them , a lot of people where the same gear every time they go out so not difficult really
also those number plates that claim to flash out when hit by a camera shot ,they just do a negative of the picture ad hey presto a clear shot
so beware …
use someone else’s gear ,and number plate …NO NOT REALLY :hehe:check this video : http://www.sussex.police.uk/news_feed/index.asp?id=24911what a plonker , if he’s not going to dissapear then stop !
What an idiot! I always let any biker who ‘appears’ behind me past first, to see if they’re undercover. I’ve spotted a couple coppers on bikes this way, they do exist. Doing those kind of speeds in 30 zones is shocking, especially with that much traffic.
So now we know what a “recognition expert” is.
It’s someone that can pick two pictures that match, or, stone me, odd bits of pictures that match.
If you can find all “ten bits that are different” in those crappy magazine contests, does that make you a recognision expert?
And how many unique match points are needed for fingerprints before admissable as evidence?
Not defending this bloke. If guilty he’s a d!ck head. But how many unique match points were found?
I’m just hacked off with the police and courts making it up as they go along.
I wear two different helmets and various jackets regularly (not all at the same time)
And you move your Londonbiker sticker how often?
One sticker was all it took for a guy in Nottingham to be convicted when caught speeding on a forward facing camera. Apparently, a unique feature.
It’s all getting borrocks.
To true - it seems like a waste of police time and resources unless an accident resulted from the offence e.g. a hit and run.
Apparently they tracked the Kawasaki wheelie bloke via his distinctive and rare Dainese Jacket - they contacted the importer and it turns out only two jackets of that type have been sold in the UK! What a price to pay for exclusivety - your licence!
All my bikes are pretty standard/generic looking with no distinguishing features!
although I guess if they wanted to put serious resources into it they could track me down - if they diverted those resources into tracking down the bike thieves and told us about it maybe we would return the favour and have a bit more respect for their forward facing cameras.
Speeding excessively above what ‘normal’ bikers do in CCTV covered areas is asking for trouble. Many in London are going to be under supervision all day and a busy body watching will probably relish the idea of informing the police. Be careful
oh so true , it’s all about making money …nothing to do with road safety
i have said it before and i’ll say it again the police have turned into revenue collectors , not their fault personally they have been told to do it
