Bad Driving Day - Why is there always one biker that give us all a bad name

On my normal trip into work this morning I was unlucky to come across a courier who not only carved me up (let him know I was not impressed) but he also carved up another scooter on the exit slip from the Blackwall tunnel, just when you think you’ve seen all you can this guy drove between the two vans sitting at the light (RED) and went through them, all I saw was this bloke who was cross spin back not knowing if this guy was hit I went after this twat and again he proceeded to go though the next red lights and again the ones after that on cotton st, when I did manage to get along side I shouted at him about what he had done only to be told to F**k off,

I left it there as I was getting angry, so I called the company in question Courier System and reported the incident so if you do come across the guy riding one of their bikes LC57 ULR white with a tash, thank him for me!

…he must be related to the green Ninja on the M11 at Stansted this morning

You’ve had a crap start to your day.

It’s amazing how some couriers actually make a career out of delivering parcels as the chances they take are gob-smacking (and not only with their own lives).

That said, I’ve come across a lot of bike couriers who are just the best riders and don’t act like your little moustachioed friend.

Yep i should add that the its always the minority that cause other people to think bad of us. Im no angel but this morning was well beyond what i would call reasonable driving standards

Should ask one of our resident copper to check for insurance, road tax as I am pretty sure that he has neither and most likely is also banned from driving.
Trojan? I think that is your favorite part of the job. Maybe they let you enter the transport police if you show some enthusiasm. That would be you doing a proper copper’s work for once :stuck_out_tongue:

…that’s a joke right?

:w00t:

+1…Chenster!!!I’ll have a pint of what D675 is on please.

when riding a company bike you have to show your license and counterpart every three months as you go on the company insurance and also it should normally be taxed as it is owned by the courier company. This is normally how it works and I would assume @ courier systems it would be the same as they are pretty big player.

No need for us to thank him, his boss probably will.

My Ex brother-in-law used to run a courier company and told me once that he likes it when people phone up to complain about one of his employees riding/driving because it means the bloke is trying his best.

Bah! Wouldn’t be quite so bad if it was just his life he was putting at risk :frowning:

…+1, & I’ll have what porkscratchin is on please

Used to run? :hehe:

I reckon we must have all given biking a bad name at some point/s in our biking careers :smiley:Plus we’ve all been carved up by couriers - that’s what they do - if you want to get personal - do it in a biking way - give him a run for his money - see if you can outride him - that’s how i’ve responded in the past - and often I’ve been successful.

As for giving biking a bad name - be honest - isn’t/wasn’t that bad name part of the attraction? - biking is one of the last opportunities left to give two fingers to the health and safety culture (which is really about social control) and give them half the chance they’ll shut us down too. perish the thought that we’ve developed (along with everything else) a safe, conservative image - come to think of it. . .

I do understand though - no excuse for being unnecessarily rude and endangering others:D

yep, i did my damage to the name yesterday… and the victim was another scoot :crying:

it was a slightly dangerous overtake in which i didnt give enough space ( on A40 ) and could see him riding closer to the curb in my mirrors as i rode away.
:frowning:

i must offer a sacrifice to someone
