Update: Fitted them (actually my dad did while I was away for the weekend) and had no problems. Had them on the bike for about a week now and love them! definitely going to take the plunge when I get a bit of cash and get the equivalent clutch leaver. Only issue atm is that my bike now has a nice sleek black brake lever and a bulky out of place looking silver stock clutch lever.
I also second the cheap chinese levers - used them for years on all different bikes and never had one break (must’ve dropped 4 bikes with them over the years; each time with the levers taking a hit). Worst it did was bend them (think that happened once) but bike was still rideable. Nowadays I go for the expensive (read: £25) foldable ones…along with a foldable gear shifter just in case.
