Back to London and URGENT TECHY Q...

Hi all!! Long time no speak/post! How the devil you all been?!?!

Good news…i’m coming back to London!! :hehe: Yahy!! Well, to work at first come April Fools’ Day:w00t:…as a real grown up qualified legal beagle!! :w00t: To live maybe later!

My techy Q is:

  • is there a way you can print text messages off a mobile phone? and can you print out date and time that was received?

  • can a phone company somehow recall/print/verify a text message was received if it’s been deleted from a mobile phone?

Cheers ears!

See you all again soon! You still meet on Wednesdays? :hehe:

Cant help answer your question,

but well done Girlie and look forward to seeing you again

depends on ya phone, I can with my nokia one as it comes with all the stuff to download to a pc called nokia lifeblog, dates, times etc of texts pics alsorts

Great to be having you back Flick!!

Country life too slow for you?

I think most telco’s keep a period of texts on record and then dump them after a while (too many to keep). Speak to your telco, they may help if you play the sympathy card.

The first would depend on the type of mobile phone - for example a Blackberry with wireless networking probably could, my Samsung D500 probably couln’t unless I used a utility to send the messages to a computer using Bluetooth and printed them from the computer.

As for the second - I think phone companies keep those messages for a year.

I know, back to London - cool, ay!? Am still devoid of 2 wheels though unforunately, after being knocked off Sylvia the SV and then her being reversed into in a car park and being written off and Nina the Ninja being stolen within 12 months, i’m giving 2 wheels a break for the time being.

thanks for the tech help guys. Phone companies are being less than helpful at the mo, so if anyone has any other ideas, let me know!!

thanks v much, see you all soon :w00t: :w00t:

You would have to do a sync of a PC, but this depends on the type of phone, that would give you a listing of the text messages.

Ones that have been deleted have a small chance of being recovered, you will need to speak to the specialist data recoverers, search of google.

Phone companies keep the records but wont let you have them, for police use only I think…

If it is a Sony Ericsson then do a google for Float’s Mobile Agent

cheers all, very kind of you to help

Welcome back to the smoke and LB radar Flick;)

What phone do you have and who is your Service Privider Flick?

The phone comapnies keep the data for auditing purposes but share it with the police on a “voluntary” basis. I am pretty sure they would have ot release to an indevidual data that wssent to or from their phone. Of course on a pay as you go it may be difficult to prove it was your data.

Probably not a lot of help, but GCHQ at Cheltenham have a copy with every bit of connected data.

Oldguy.

Jeyo make a list of products that sync ure phone with outlook, i.e. get the sms of it and print like a normal email. As for records unsure.

Welcome back
