back from hols & dropped the bike

Hey all,

just got back from the south of france (marseille) & cant beleive the nuters out their. Bikes everywhere, i think there are more bikes the people. & i dont think these nutters have ever heard of protection… be it for the rider or there bike. shorts, vests, t-shirts flip flops & even quite a few with no lids. saw for kids on one bike…dont ask but they managed it, on a main rd aswell with out lids on any of em. …crazy! the only riders i saw in full gear were a group i think were from here passing through. the roads are crazy, bike riding anywhere they want, up wrong way on one way st, on the pavement,…on two occasions i saw riders ride their bike into a resturant/pub, say hello to a friend or have a chat then ride off.

alot of hi powered peds but also most with big bikes were thou’s & all theses guys pimp out there rides. i think i saw just 1 600. think marseille is in need of a bike cafe…mmmmm along the see front. remember seeing 8 bikes ( r1’s,blades) popping wheelies at the same time…mad i know but it looked the ********.

Also went to the gym yesterday & when i came back & took the chain off my 05 cbr 6rr & the bike just DROPPED, fell against the wall then on to the concrete floor of shep bush car park.

left mirror snapped, screen half came out & nearlly snapped front fairing ( just bent with a liitle brake) crash bung snapped in 2 (sh*t) & also there was this green liquid coming out onto the side stand & the floor??? does anyone know what this is? & is it illigal to ride with just one mirror? does anyone have one?

Coolant. Check for leaks around the hoses.

Sounds like you could do with a holiday mate

That is just a big pile of poo, hopefully fix up quickly and cheaply.

No worries about riding with missing mirror

Green stuff coolant - maybe spilt out when bike on side, but check piepes etc per Nuts txt

As long as other road legal stuff works - you’ll be ok.

Watch your tyres don’t get that coolant on them, otherwise you’ll be off quicker than you can say embarrassed to F@ck

mirrors aren’t an MoT requirement - you dont have to have any mate

like nuts has mentioned its worth checking the hoses. not sure on your bike in particular but in general there’s a small header expansion tank and a lower main reservoir. if its coming down the side stand its likely to be the lower one. could be the hoses, or if you’re unlucky a split to the tank. clean it up fully and get it running, then a slow ride roll round a car park etc to check for leaks cos that stuff is very slippy and you dont want a full leak when you’re riding
