Awesome hand built bike in Borough

I was walking around the South Bank at the weekend with my good lady and came across this.

I loved it so much I posted on Flickr to see if I could find out what it was. Better still, check the comments, within hours the guy who’d built it had commented on the picture! He’s now posted a bunch of photos up of how he made it.

Fascinating look and I’d love to have a sit on it/ try something like that out. It’s gorgeous. Although, I imagine that owning a custom built bike like that is a bit of a labour of love.

I love the internet for stuff like this! I’d never have found out what kind of bike it was, anything about its origins or anything like that otherwise!

Cool! Nice bespoke 1970’s urban scrambler bike (with a high pipe?) - real stylish.

I’m a big fan of flat track style bikes.

Here are a few links you may want to check out…

Deus Ex Machina for inspiration (or a huge shipping bill)

Wrenchmonkees, a little bit closer to home - a couple of SR500 projects on here too

Here’s what it looked like when it was new (for you youngsters;))

Coo! Real walnut tank, how tasteful

Yup me too ! love the flat track bikes ,been toying with the idea of doing some thing to the triumph to flat track it

TOP NOTCH CRUISING/POSING MACHINE

I must be missing something here. What’s special about this? All he’s done is taken off the mudguard and side panels, fitted a flat track seat and painted it in baby poo brown and matt black.

It’s a bit of a shed really but I’m sure he loves it;):cool:Now this is a proper tracker:cool:

Another nice one here .

Look how minimal that frame is:w00t:

Loverly:cool:

The flat trackers look like a right laugh - totally minimalist motorcycling.

One for the road?

Nice, maybe we should ask Admin for a flat tracker section , another nice on here ,i belive its for sale as well.

Dont like the exhaust on the Triumph and it looks like it could get tad warm after five mins or so, unless you ride like you got piles.

What is this? I love it!

I think its got the Kawasaki W650 engine in it .

Yep, standard frame too:)

Lovely bikes!
