Awesome gadget: Tyre pressure monitoring system

Ladies and gentlemen… one of the miracles of modern technology… behold…

The “ZTS Tyre Pressure and Temperature monitoring system”

From the German propadanda text:

“Displays tyre pressure in bar or PSI, as well as inside tyre temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit. To gather the data a special valve with an integrated sensor is installed on each rim. If the set tyre pressure drops more than 20%, a red warning light comes on and displays the affected wheel. Data transmission via radio. Shock- and waterproof. The sensors weigh 20 grammes each, requiring rebalancing of the wheels.”

:w00t:

Now that’s cool. However, it’s also 199.99 euros.

I’ll stick to this for now, for a tenner:

Doesn’t require rebalancing no wheels, either :hehe:

Why?

£2 digital pressure guage and 30 seconds a couple of times a week.

Trackdays, or racing.

ooo that looks cool! now where to but along with the sat nav, ipod, phone, scotoiler display, gear indicator…

For that price, I would want it to pump up the tyres up too, which is the bit I cant be ars=d with!

We’ve got something similar on our race car - just have to remind tyre fitters that its fitted to the wheels when they change tyres otherwise your bits go in the bin :stuck_out_tongue:

This thread has just inspired me for my new avatar…

Wow – not just a flange, but a turbo flange! I’m deeply impressed!

The current version of the Kawasaki GTR comes with this as standard.
